Hello all
I recently picked up a german officer tunic and trousers and so far my googles haven't brought me any luck on looking for badges ect

I was wondering if any of you could help with a guide to putting all the insignia and badges in the correct areas and which ones I need. I would like this to be the lowest commissioned officers uniform I think it's equivalent to 2nd lieutenant.
Cheers

You need a chest eagle, collar litzen and rank shoulderboards.
That's it. Everything else is bling.
For a guide to bling:

Is the tunic barathea or scratchy wool?
That will have a bearing on what grade of insignia you buy

Thank you very much
The uniform itself isn't wool, well it doesn't look like my woollen uniform iv got for an EM and it looks a lot nearer than the woollen uniform. So I guess it's barathea.
What I have seen on a website is they also have a rank patch is the true as iv only seen it on this website

And where roughly would that go.
I'm guessing the rest you mentioned would go in the same place as the EM uniform iv got.

As Bedsnherts says you only need the chest eagle, collar litzen and rank shoulderboards. The 'Oakleaf and bar' rank insignia were only used on camouflage items I believe :good:

A barathea or gabardine uniform for a Leutnant is likely to be a walking out uniform or a staff-wallah and would be worn with riding boots and breeches (or trousers and shoes for staff) and 2 prong belt.
Junior officers in combat areas often preferred an OR tunic as it was more durable.
You will need officer grade collar and insignia from Nic Morigi or similar. Gallantry and campaign awards same as OR.
Rank patches are for camo tunics.
I'm sure you already know about Waffenfarbe for litzen and shoulder boards.
If you don't have boots and breeches, it could work as senior NCO walking out uniform with appropriate OR insignia.
Bear in mind that the Wehrmacht had a much lower ratio of officers to men than, say, the US Army - 1:33 vs 1:10.

As above, chest eagles, litzen and shoulderboards go in exactly the same place as for EM.

Thank you very much guys.
Also the officer uniform is purely collection items as I know the ratio was lower than most.
I always prefer being the EM anyways.
Thanks again for all the help :)
