Hi, regular Heer Infanterie did not wear overalls, as far as I know. Their work clothes were HBTs, lightweight cotton uniforms, initally off-white in colour, changing later to reed green. Eventually, it became adopted as a summer uniform.
I expect mechanics wore overalls, along with LW groundcrew, U-Boat crew, etc.
