Over the next few weeks (probably months) I'd like to get a small gallery of pics together, to show a variety of Heer uniforms (principally Infanterie), and how they changed during the war. Off the top of my head, I would like:

Early war
Polish campaign
French campaign

Mid war
Afrika Korps
Barbarossa

Late war
Normandy
Volksturm?

Feel free to chip in with ideas, discussion regarding kit, etc. I'd like to make these as accurate as possible, so don't be offended if your kit is scrutinised - it ain't criticism! (I know we have some kit guides, but there's no harm in improving on them.) If you have much of the kit for a particular period, and you want to be the model, let me know! If you've got a decent camera and want to help, let me know. :)

I'll start with a rough guide to kit of the Polish campaign - double decal M35 helmet, either plain or with a breadbag strap, or an inner tube rubber band. M36 tunic, Steingrau trousers, Jackboots, full field gear, rubberised anti-gas cape pouch worn on the chest. Would like to also get some good pics wearing fully-laden Tornister as well. It would be cool if we were also able to get a machine gunner with an MG34 - you know who you are!! - as well as a rifleman 8)

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

Replying to myself... I've got almost everything for Polish, French and early Barbarossa. I'll probably get a rubberised anti-gas cape pouch soon.

However, a question for the wise regarding early helmet paint - was it RAL6006, or something different ?

Nice idea. Would great to show the range of equipment used by the average Landser throughout the course of the war. A bit like an online osprey book. :D

I can do DAK, Barbarossa and Normandy/late war. I have an OK camera but it depends just how good you want the pictures.

Some cold weather pics would be good this time of year, perhaps one early (basic stuff)and one late (better equipped- padded suit etc) as well as some warm weather ones (may have to wait) with HBTs. Maybe some at rest/workwear pictures if people have the kit.

RAL6006 was France onwards. It was 'applegreen' before that. Try RAL6003.

Thanks for the info, Rich. :good: Does anyone have a lid appropriate for 1939? If not, does anyone have a spare one they want to paint up? :)

Yeah sorry, I wasn't altogether clear - I mean impressions. The way I'm envisaging it working is for one (or more) people to get the kit together (borrowing the odd bit if necessary), and doing a photo session - either meeting specially to do it or perhaps before an event (although there's not a lot of daylight around for the next few months).

I did, but now it is in DAK colours(well actually its whitewashed right now but that will come off). :slap: I still have the paint though if anyone wants some and intend to get another M35 myself at some point
