appologies for the wave of posts. just getting to grips with it all, seems like everytime i get a handle on one thing, another pops up! I have a tanaka G33/40 on its way (cant wait) though i have heard that the tanaka magazines do not fit in the KAR98 leather pouches? Is this true, and, if so, how have people got round it?

cheers

Jonny

It is true. I personally just keep them in my breast pocket (keeps them warm), but I've heard of people cutting the leather pouches to make the magazines fit.

yeah i thought that might be the case, Thanks. Secondly this may sound really stupid, but how do the Y straps attach to the belt? I have got a belt on order and im hoping to get the Y straps next week or so.

Hi, regarding the mags, it's not much of an issue, IMO. I've got a springer K98, and my mags don't fit in the pouches either - there are plenty of pockets where you can put them, but the mag pouches are an essential item of kit for the authentic look.

Y-straps have aluminium tabs which hook under the belt, or the D-rings on the mag pouches.

You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier

Isn't someone trying to make some slightly larger pouches especially for these?

Hopeless has been trying to get some done for a while now. He's just having a few issues with acheiving the desired quality.
