Can't believe you Pete - all this vitriolic anti-Gadge stuff and now you want to invite him to an event! Honestly, we know 100% that stuff written in a magazine is worth nothing to us or WW2 in general, so I'm not the slightest bit bothered whether he writes anything or not.
So far we have got three paying players and three players who are being charged nothing, it doesn't bode well!
I was only trying to be diplomatic! I don't want to write him in either, I was just passing on what he had asked me and just thought it might be nice for a CiA game to get covered instead of gunman getting all of the free press! Why not just use him as tea bitch? Or, get him to man a radio, to free up some proper manpower? No way would I want him doing anything that influences the plot, nor potentially change the direction or flow of the game.
How's this for a thought? Josh was offering me cut price places for Cold War, why not offer gadge the same? Then, it's not a free place, it's not on the booking list and, we get something towards covering our own expenses?
Edit -I'm equally happy to tell him "no thanks" as well.

OK, let me get my head round this...
Do I want an article in a shitty Airsoft magazine that no one reads, let alone anyone who would be arsed to go to an event? No. Especially a magazine that owes me money from two years ago and to whom I put forward Gadge as a potential contributor. Besides which, he won't be able to get any pictures on the German side (unless posed afterwards) and I don't want anyone else to be on the inside as it were, with knowledge of what both sides are doing and where they are.
Do I want to be 'hiding' players from a booking list so that Close Action are deprived of revenue. Not really. Besides which, that is fewer places on the booking list, and we know how important it is that booking lists are seen to be filling up and filling with the right sort of people.
If Gadge comes would it be more likely that Evo shows up? Yes. And Evo's landy would be handy. As would Ramsay's.
If Gadge has an subordinate admin/coordination role then would it enable me to leave search HQ from time to time. Yes. Could he run the WRVS tea wagon? Yes.
I think Evo's place can be quite legitimately be paid for by the other players in return for the use of an in-game vehicle - this is fairly normal now - so his name can definitely go on the booking list. So we could add Gadge as the forth member of the 'CiA crew' and not be chargeable as far as Close Action is concerned. Just for christ sake don't give Gadge any impression he is part of or back in CiA!
OK, I've talked myself round - the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

A cut price deal sounds fine, a contribution on the basis that other players will be paying for his place (which isn't that fair really) and that we don't want a magazine article particularly. He will still write it though as it is money in his pocket for doing bugger all.
I could almost feel your pain as you typed that lot David! I'll drop him a polite pm, to stall things a bit until we get some more solid bookings and tell him it'll cost him £25. Is that ok?

Could you invent a name for your farmer/land owner role? I'll add you to the visible booking list as organiser on the British side - we don't want them wondering why you don't appear and it will be obvious you are on the German side!

Here is something to get the German's arses twitching. In the evening, under the guidance of Greystone-Dunn, send out a small party to set out a landing strip to receive a light aircraft carrying their weapons for use on Sunday.
They are to be placed down the wide drag where we put the targets. This will be visible to the Brit camp if anyone is alert enough (if they aren't alert then I'll be alert for them!) and initiate an investigation and possibly a search through the woods (if I think there is any point to it - might just push patrols down roads in the vague hope someone appears in front of us, but it will be fun for the Germans to hide and move in the dark - as rehearsed last Sunday).
To do this the Germans move off while it is still light and can traverse across the site with ease. Get to RV and lay up until it gets sufficiently dark for us to see naked lights (a big pack of tea light will be sufficient) then set the strip and clear off by a route for you to determine.
Since the Brits WILL find the landing strip and extinguish it the German landing is aborted. Instead he circles and drops a canister of guns and this forms the objective of the Germans first thing Sunday morning - exactly the exercise we prepared them for last Sunday.
Good idea. If the Brit's come out, torches flashing and sweeping the night, the Jerries will brick it and have to run like f**k! We can pre-place the weapons cache on saturday. Also, if any of them get captured on saturday, it will be easy to recover their weapon for them to use as a Brit, without giving away the location of the drop.

Had a chat with Keith this afternoon. He is interested in Hut 9 - his leg won't make him any good on the German side so is interested in the Brits. But he points out all he has is Staffs airborne kit. So, as I'd like, if at all possible, for the British side to be in British uniform (with only those Germans who are captured and don't have Brit uniform to change into wearing civies) it struck me that we could have a group of airborne in the area either in training or as trainers or put on other duties being unfit for front line duties (as the PoW camp staff were).
Thoughts?
Oh, and he is happy to bring the kubel, with white stars on the sides, as a re-purposed captured vehicle (perhaps on evaluation trials). He didn't ask for a discount or free place and I didn't offer one, although perhaps we can consider this once we get a handle on attendees.
BTW, Craig said he was planning on reprising his Home Guard role from Horn so I guess his crowd will also be Brits too. I was pondering on whether to see if Craig fancied an admin role, typing up reports and taking statements?
