It's morning now and I finally feel dry ! Still knackered and it was 10am before my eyes opened this morning .
Thanks to Josh and the gang for planning and running the day ,it has to be said that despite the lopsided numbers (Germans outnumbered 2 to 1 ) ,it never felt like it and this demonstrates how a good team of planners can make a game work ,even the allied players thought it worked and never knew where we would attack next ,so well done team and thank you.
The play was fair all day ,I never saw any cheating so another thank you too all the players .
The only down side was the weather ,pretty much the first half of the day we had dense driven drizzle ,fortunatley it was pretty warm so not uncomfortable at all ,in fact the only down side was how heavy everything becomes once its wet ! The flip side is once you are soaked through you have nothing to lose by laying down in the ditch or crawling through undergrowth that you might avoid if you were dry .
A big well done to all my comrades on the German side ,we cicked butt all day and despite the disparity in numbers ,we fort with planning organisation and vigour throughout ,chins never dropped all day ,I think at the beginning we looked at the number of allied players and thought it was going to be a very hard battle and a bloody nose was coming our way but I think we supprised ourselves .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

Thanks to Josh and the commanders for a great day. Thanks to the Germans too for giving us such a good fight, we had no idea where you'd come from next and it certainly didn't feel like you were outnumbered.

Special thanks to my fellow allied players for some good banter and fighting, also for Martin for leading the British team. Absolutely loved the defence of Napalm Village at the end of the day with our spirited paratrooper counter attack to the rear of the German lines.

Regards,

Ralph

Another good one Josh & team
Outstanding constant attacking from the well outnumberd germans.
We just didn't have a clue what or were you would come from next.
I think it was stupid of us to think it was going to be a pushover for the Allied forces.
Still we live to fight another day.
At least the weather didn't beat us so well done to all
Cheers
Peter. :ghey:

Well done chaps. sorry we missed the afternoon. Excellent bit of ambushing by Mr Torrent following the US forces allegedly having their arses handed to them by those naughty Germans.
I missed all this morning and didn't wake up 'till 1130. I is old...

I thought gameplan on Saturday worked brilliantly, with the Allies spread out enough so that the Germans could have a good go at attacking our positions. The Germans were also very aggressive and made good use of the site, we just didn't know where they were coming from in the morning, also really enjoyed the battle for the hill in the afternoon, although it felt more like Arnhem than the Bulge with a handful of paras and Americans left in their muddy trenches at end-ex.

Many thanks to Josh for sorting out the gameplan, Lefty for pointing us all in roughly the right direction, Cuff for his excellent cooperation with our US allies, the Germans for their tenacious offensive spirit in the face of heavy opposition and to my long suffering but ever cheerful British platoon who I kept ordering to stand around in the rain and mud, prior to being bounced by yet another bunch of unseen Jerries. Loved mortar fire off the hill, and apologies to our US comrades for the shorts :slap:

Sorry I had to bail this morning, had a migraine coming on and didn't want to repeat my Combat South experience of lying under a tree for four hours unable to move.

Cheers
Martin

I only played the saturday, but what a day it was!

Excellent game planning by Josh and his team to cope with the lack of German players. I was worried to start that we would be slaughtered, but it worked well.

Thanks to everyone involved and to the Devons for the use of their much needed fire in the evening. :good:

Hope to see you all again

A big thanks to Josh and all involved. Sad about the weather but I guess in war nobody stopped for a touch of wet stuff. As for a lack of germans ,there looked plenty to me, all over the place they were. Going to be drying stuff out for weeks but was worth it.

I would also like to thank everyone involved especially Josh and his crew, our commander and sub commander Andy. I can only echo things already mentioned, Great day although it did not look very promising in the morning due to weather and German numbers. I am completely destroyed and all my bones are aching. I guess my body tells me that I am too old to carry an MG42 all day. Rain went through three layers of clothes. Both sides fought well and it was good to play at Eversley again.

The entire house is now covered in stuff drying out, I'll leave tackling my boots for a few days. It never occurred to me to wear my waterproof running socks (although they do have a big hole in the toe). New pair on the Christmas list.

Migraine kicked in around 5pm, urgh, but seem to have shifted it overnight.

Cheers

Just echoing the comments already said.

Great day, shame about the bloody rain and some of the germans not being able to make it.

But hats off to Jerry they put up attack after attack and achieved some of the objectives on the day even being outnumbered 2-1. Josh said it on the post game briefing but sportsmanship was top notch in the field on the Saturday from all that i saw and everyone got into the feel of the game.

Looking forwward to the next one. :good:
