Just a quick message to say hello to everyone here.
I've been into the airsoft scene for over 15 years now and over this time have met some great people.
With a growing interest in anything WWII I guess it was only a matter of time before I combined the two.
So i'm really looking forward to finding out more about the airsoft WWII scene around Kent.
My main collection right now is genuine U.S WWII clothing and gear from 1941 to 1945.

Jamie

Hello and Welcome
Get booked on a game asap , there's always kit you can borrow if you haven't got all you need (most games have a free loan kit/gun thread ,loaned on a you bend it you mend it basis), almost nobody goes to their first event in perfect kit ,always ask where to get the best deals or correct kit from as there's plenty of pitfall's that a simple question can help you avoid.for you'r first loadout always go for a basic infantry impression as it will get the most use ,then you can add the bit's to make up the more elite units later on ,it's always tempting to go for the elite airborne scuba ninja uniform worn for just one day in the pacific conflict but a regular infantry uniform will be used at the majority of games so best to start there .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well

Hello and welcome,

like Dadio says, main thing is to get along to a game, you don't need perfect kit and there is usually stuff to loan.

Cheers

In terms of an actual 'scene' focused in Kent there isn't one that I'm aware mate; we're a bit of a niche in Airsoft so events are all over the country that cater to our specific type of depravity. You'll have to travel a bit to get to most events.

The Kasserine game at the UCAP Sandpit in Dartford might be a good bet to dip your toes. Not a million miles down the A2. Any kit you don't have by then (May) you'll find people are extremely generous in loaning it out to you.

Went back to Canterbury a few months back to see if it had changed much since I was at Uni. I was devastated to find half the pubs I used to drink at (Casey's, Hobgoblin) are all gone! Even the jail bait nightclub next to Canterbury East's a pale shadow of its former pale self.

Dark times!

Welcome aboard! Just to echo the others, borrow what kit you don't have & try and get to a game - Kasserine Pass will be perfect :good:

At risk of sounding like a broken record, people will allow you to borrow some of their equipment as long as you take good care of it, sir. As you are fully aware, this stuff isn't cheap and we care about our stuff very very much. Other than that, get yourself to a game, we don't mind historical accuracy as much as the re-enactors and stitch counters, plus they can be lax as well with the face protection. My first game was when I and my friend were below the age of 18, so we couldn't legally wear only eye protection, plus my friend insisted on wearing his rather... Strange form of boots that looked more like pillows wrapped round his feet.

So yes, we're the mugs looking like robots beside the rest of the group, but I forgot we were wearing them completely as the game progressed, so it was all good, sir.
