On the plus side, now you have more time to plan gear for the next game you can make. Longest day sounds like it will be a good one.

Thanks but the longest day is too far and too much for me to pay!

Im sure Wladek will confirm, but the SVD looks so modern I think even with scrim it would look out of place

Well I would like to take part but I have no suitable gun to use as my tommy gun and svd are unsuitable so what can I do?

I may have a Garand I can lend you, last time i fired it the range seemed a bit crap though. Let me have a look on the weekend and see what I can do with it :good:

Tim is correct, there is no scrim option for rifles (Scrimmed rifles are far from a disguise, they stand out worse than black plastic).

Copenhagen is the most prescriptive game there has yet been for weapons and equipment. The kit/weapon/game/age requirements are all listed exhaustively on the thread so that people do not book on with any illusions.

If someone has both a rifle and an Early War uniform to lend, then that is all fine and good. But also make sure you do actually want to go. It is not an airsoft game. It will, hopefully, have almost nothing in common with an open day and would bore the pants of those looking for such. The game is inexpensive because it already assumes an investment in the kit/weapon requirements of the game. If you would like to attend this game style, and someone has a suitable uniform and weapon they are willing to lend you, then that's great, but please do not just book on ONLY because it is near to you and only £20. That would not be fair to yourself, or the other players, and I wouldn't want you to have wasted your money and time being bored all weekend.

I will talk to my mate and see what he wants to do as he likes the sound of Copenhagen but like me he had no guns or kit.

I haven't seen many decent ww2 guns about other than the various thompson and the various 1911's!

welcome to the community.

in response to your latest question. there are quite a number of high end and budget ww2 weapons widely available in the uk including M1 Garands (ICS) Grease Guns (ICS, Snow Wolf, Ares), MP40's (SRC & AGM) BAR's (VFC and AY/ACM) Stens (AGM) and many others, the only guns really missing from mass production from the big manufacture's at the moment are Lee Enfields & a proper Bren Gun.

kit wise if your set for american its a relatively straightforward loadout and as said previously by others, prioritize the essentials. Trousers, Gaiters a jacket & a jeep cap would be the best start to get the 'look' everything else you can add to it as time progresses. That being roughout boots, M1 Helmet and appropriate webbing.

Current ww2 armoury
King arms Thompson, ICS M1 Garand, ACM ZB28, ICS M3 Grease gun, ACM M1918 BAR, Kjw M1911, 2x WE Highpowers, Kwa Tokarev, Webley VI, PPS Bazooka, AGM STG44, Custom M1919 .30cal

You just named my favourite ww2 rifle which I have used the real version... The lee Enfield .303.

I could sell my m4 kit to raise funds I suppose.

Shoot and Scoot do a Lee Enfield No.4 and an SMLE if you're really after a definitive British battlefield rifle.

They're based on an ASG Varmint which is an off-spec and therefore not compatible VSR clone. The downside is that it has no upgrades and if something goes wrong on it the entire internals will need to be replaced which will cost about £100.

Plus side is that for £275 you get the donor gun and all the woodwork and parts required to build it (which isn't as terrifying as it sounds). Take the issue of spares aside and the Varmint is decent. It shoots straight and the range is very respectable. If you downgrade it to below 350fps you'll be doing the sears a massive favour and consequently the long term reliability of it increases. I'll use mine about five or six times a year so really I have no complaints.

Like Wattsy said, pretty much everything you could really want is available in terms of guns and kit. The M3 Grease Gun is superb.

A bolt action Rifle is definitely the way to go, used by the majority of combatants during WW2 + its so, so much more satisfying when you get a kill! :)

Yes, Gunzerker is selling one in the for sale forum. You'd need a valid VCRA defence to buy it though, but as your Thompson had to be two-toned, I guess you haven't got one. There are several manufacturers doing or who have done K98s.

Cheers

Well I do plate shooting and law enforcement simulations but the club in question does not have an official membership to cover as a defence and my other club won't commit to it even though there is an official membership card and number.

The answer to 2 toning is white spirit and wire wool :)

I would suggest that you go to a local airsoft site and sort out a defence. You don't want to risk missing out on getting guns due to a lack of defence. The other way to get a defence is to join a re-enactment group and get AFRA membership. Local re-enactment groups are handy to know, they will know where to get things locally and the events they attend also attract people selling cheap equipment.
Fairy Power spray is incidentally very good for removing 2 tone.

Couldn't you previously buy UkARA defence if you wanted to get the defence ahead of time if you had an insufficient amount of games under your belt?

No you couldn't. UKARA doesn't provide a licence to buy airsoft guns, it merely proves to are an active airsofter and comply with the requirements of the law, and therefore gives some reassurance to retailers (who are the ones at risk of legal action).

Are you over 18 years old?
