look's like you have a handle on the gear you need, the more generic the better as it will serve for more events, always ask the forum for advice before you buy and get stuck in asap, loan kit is almost always on hand so you don't need to be perfectly kitted first time out.

lots of sensible advice above, go generic and don't worry about getting everything at once as people are happy to lend kit. The main thing is to come to some events!
Hope to see you at something soon, if north wales is too far in August then maybe Luga in September? I'm sure we can find you some Russian or German kit.
