I am thinking of re-opening the US booking for slots 8 - 14 on Saturday night 6.30pm first 7 to post after 6.30 get on the list others go on a reserve list in the order they posted.

Only 1slot per posting, I think that is the best I can do.

these four are mates / relations of wladeck, and all members of PBI.

they were all at gunmans cowboy weekend, and all first class airsofters and rolepplayers. they will do as their told, and id be pissed off, if they lost a space to make room for dog company, who basicly dont do anything by the book, and just do their own thing. the event would run so much smoother with the doughboys/pbi

Nigel, ive been thinking about it, the original booking thread has to stand.

firstly it was first come first serve, that should stand, also weve done well to get the good players booked on.

To change this and alienate them just so a few dog company lads don't whinge is lunacy.

DOG COMPANY totally ruined anarchy for me, 1 hour into the game i almost walked out. i stuck with it so as not to ruin it for the russains.
there disregard for any kind of plan or orders is crap, and they will not work in a game as structured as the dirty dozen.

im seriously considering not going, if the us side has a lot of dog co in it, their uncontrollable, and i cant be arsed going through all the effort, and using my time for site visits and one of my few weekends off, just to be annoyed by them again.

seriously consider letting the original booking thread stand, were looking like unorganized undecisve idiots on the thread now

Reading the booking thread makes it seem like none of us knows whats going on at all, and although most of the time i really am in a state of perplexment I dont want people on the forum knowing this cos it'd just make me look silly. I'll be honest, if my name was taken off a booking thread because people had their little digs at a secret handshake then I wouldn't attend a game organised by that particular group ever again, and if it was one of my mates then i'd duck out and slag the game off.

I dont think its at all fair to remove peoples names who have expressed a desire to attend. Some of these people have been asking since the initial post about the game went up, and like Porta said, there was a lot of people asking if they could attend at the Gunman weekender and also asking if they could officially book there and then!

Making the decision to amend the booking thread must have been a tough one Nigel, but in my honest opinion, it was a wrong one. It is a bit complicated the way its been done too, getting everyone to agree a date and time, etc just screams uncertainty from the organisation side. It just seems to show that we havent got a clue so we're asking everyone else to decide!

We knew from the start that we needed players who will follow instruction and 'play the game', and the people on the original us list are all people who will do that. I'm not saying we need mindless robots to play the game but we do need people who aren't just focused on winning the game and are more interested in having an all round good day, a good bit of 'role play', and a bit of fun.

I understand what Porta is getting at about giving up his time and effort for the day to be potentially ruined, but my problem is more of an immediate one, of which i mean we now all look stupid, indecisive, incompetent and more than all that, we look like we arent communicating with each other. This is your baby nigel, and the decisions are yours to make, but it'd be better if you'd waited to get some other input before making it publicly. I dont think Porta should have posted on the public forum saying you are concerned about whats going on, but im guessing you did it so that people are aware that you weren't in agreement with the change of plans. I'm not in agreement either but i'd rather keep that here between us and not air it publicly.

Once people see that we are not fully in agreement they why would they book to attend ? Would you attend an event which the organisers are not in agreement with each other, or where they dont seem to be able to make decisions or stick to them? I know i wouldn't, cos i wouldnt want to spend my money on a day of uncertainty and guesswork. I dont want Le Chateaux to fail. I want it to be an awesome day which everyone enjoys and which we, as organisers, can be proud of. Sadly, the wheels seem to be falling off already and thats not good.

I dont know how we can backpedal the decision to amend the booking for the us side, but i think we need to find a way of doing it and do it! If people arent happy with it then thats just life. Those who are bitching about it should've done what others have done and show that extra interest and get sending pm's pushing for a booking.

I cant comment to much on Dog company at Anarchy because I wasnt the one who saw it. I did suffer it though, because the plan to withdraw the germans at the gunfire went awry cos someone who shouldnt have touched it fucked about with the gun and made a balls of it so i kept the germans there waiting like an arsehole for a bang which never came. Then, when we did withdraw to the initial gold store for the tank attack, we were ambushed from the rear and to the side when we should have been defending the front. As i've said to Porta though, I wouldnt wanna sit quiet for 10 mins while everyone else started the game so in their shoes i would have been a bit annoyed. Sadly though, i differ than them in the fact that i'd respect the requests of the event organisers and follow their directions.

Anyway, my take on the situation is that we change the booking back to the way it was originally, and try and write it all off as a misunderstanding between us. We'll take a bit of shit for having crap communication with each other, then hopefully move on with the planning of the event. As i said before, anyone who has problems with the way its been booked can voice them. If they get offensive we can simply ask them not to post on the thread anymore. I wouldnt want to delete any posts, but if it got personal then i would edit a post and add the reasons why it was edited. But thats something I hope we wont have to do.

Long winded and drawn out i know, but i wanted to get everything in and give all my reasons for my opinion!

One thing i didnt mention was that 'universal gunner' actually asked for the last us spot, but hasnt been acknowledged. I am just about to pm him and tell him that the spot is his, because he asked sunday night/monday morning in the early hours, but its not going on the booking thread yet. Its only fair seeing as there was a spot available and he asked for it!

I knew there would be complaints when I opend the booking with 13 of 14 slots taken.

I have no problem with who ever is on those slots if all people here wish them to be re-instated I will do so.

I just wished to give a fair chance to all wanting to attend, I don't like insinuations of me running some form of clique so came up with a simple time to re-open the booking for the last 7 slots so all would have a fair chance.

I opened the booking sooner than was planned due to the number of requests coming in.
I decided if I was to honour all the PM requests that by December the whole lot may be booked up before opening the booking thread.
If I had anymore PM requests for the US side then I would have been telling some sorry all the places are gone and how would that look.

I am not going to request money yet I am quite happy to trust the majority of members on this forum that they will pay.

If you put yourself in my position you can see the points I have raised.

Many on here will feel it unfair if the majority of slots are gone before opening the booking, I think I would.

So I am going to take a stand on this and say booking re-opens next Sunday night at 6.30pm.

Yes but if you see they are complaining that it is hardly worth them asking when only 1 slot is there and questioning the decision to do it that way.

So I stopped the US list at that point.

I did ask Wladek to phone me as I posted a short list so he could give a first reply posting for 5 slots but he didn't so I took the bit between the teeth an posted the full list and hence got the complaints I expected.

I dont agree to be honest mate. As wladek said, i cant see why theres a 'first come first serve' policy twice. I totally understand that you dont want to be seen as 'cliquey' mate, but no matter what you do there will always be someone who accuses you of it. thats what the ones taken off the list are going to say now if they cant get their names on the list. damned if you do and damned if you dont springs to mind

With hindsight i think the booking was opened too early, but hey, hindsight would be great if we all saw it first!

My reasoning for telling universal gunner he was 'on the list' so to speak was that he wants to attend the event even on his own and not just come cos he can get all his mates in. If people had asked for the space and a couple of reserves it'd be different but they just came on moaning and i honestly wouldnt give them the time of day if they wanna do that. I understand people wanna come in groups with their mates, but its a limited place event for the us forces and we cant all get what we want so somewhere along the line someone is gonna be upset.

I honestly dont know mate. Part of me thinks we could close the booking and tell everyone because of the accusations of unfairness we will open booking later in the year and give everyone an equal chance again? I wouldnt recommend doing anything yet until we get Porta's thoughts on it all. hopefully my post should buy us a few days to bang our heads together and decide on the best course of action

Thanks I can see you see my point in opening the booking now as honoring PM's to each one of us was going to feck things up way worse than it is now.
