GZ is a site that lends itself to vehicles very well - the site is well-served by wide tracks, and we intend to work vehicles into the scenario. Please liaise with me via PM if you would like to use a vehicle in-game.

Confirmed vehicles.

1. Tug Wilson - Jeep.
2. David Barrat - motorcycle/sidecar.

Colud supply an american jeep and possibly a halftrack as posted in my thread.
BUT MAJOUR BUT you would need to get someone to pick it up from norfolk and you'd have to take a 15 year oldlkid with you but maybe if you can get round that then let me know!!

That's certainly a long way to drive an old vehicle! Not sure about that side of it, Al - but you are well within the Ground Zero age limit (this is not an "official" CiA event), so if you can get there, it would be great.

Spot on Webby - By that time I will have finished the side mounted pintle so you will get to sit in comfort up front!

I also happen to have a M31c .50cal cradle to go in back, but that would just be total overkill....???

I think a lot of people were worried about people damaging their vehicles. Certainly at the last airsofting event where it might've been possible people were mentioning things like mines and pyros. I've got to say if I were bringing a vehicle I certainly wouldn't want people to be trying to attach explosives to it.
If people were to bring vehicles would it just be for transport? Or would they actually be receiving fire/ getting blown up.
In my opinion we should appreciate how much realism having vehicles involved gives us and not want to blow them up...just my opinion.

Not really a justified 'rant', mate. I'm sure Andy has the owners' consideration at heart when planning vehicles in the game. Whatever you bring, it's going to receive BB hits at some point, anything else is up to the owner.

I understand that, not having a go. Just putting across the point that last time people were saying they were going to be sticking pyros to them and stuff. BB's fair enough, that's why I didn't include them in my rant haha

Bearing in mind the pyros in question are the same pyros that people throw at each other, day in, day out at airsoft events, i imagine they'd do considerably less damage to a jeep than a person, which is practically nil anyway. it's not like people are allowed to make their own pyros, so they're as safe as they're going to get.

A BB would probably do more damage to the metalwork and paintwork than a pyro, as with a BB all the energy is focussed on a single point, so there's a chance of a 'ding' in the paintwork. at the worst a pyro would leave a flashmark which would wash off anyway.

just my thoughts...

I think some peeps should chill out a bit. For starters, apart from BFGs, there will be no user pyro at this event anyway, due to the number of fires caused. (There will be marshall-operated smoke and possibly bangs too.)

We have yet to clarify vehicle rules, but for safety purposes, they will probably not be allowed to fire or be fired upon whilst moving.

I didn't imagine we'd have great convoys of vehicles - one per side does the trick anyhow, and allows us to do some more varied scenarios.

Not firing whilst moving - Jeez I hope so Andy!

I have visions of tear arseing around the place with Webby hosing down all opposition with the .30 cal - I don't fancy sitting still while the Bosche steadily advance on me - the big white star on the bonnet is a perfect aiming point!

My jeep has the combat veteran 'well lived' in look about it - a bit like the old crock that drives it!!!

Well, nothing's set in stone yet mate, but my take on it was that if the driver of a moving vehicle receives a burst of BBs to the head, it might cause him to lose control... ?
