Just got back from the site visit. Lovely, sunny day and a pleasant walk in the countryside! We walked most of the site and have formulated a more detailed gameplan from it, including camping and starting locations. I'll wait for Guy to get home and post up a map before we go into any real detail. Suffice to say that the logging hasn't affected the areas we'll be using and that all factions will be kept busy for the event, with multiple tasks and objectives.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!
Here is the map
Thanks for that. I've annotated the map to show the basics. I'll type up the full gameplan and post that seperately. (Edit - If my frigging computer stops deleting it, or parts of it! I've tried about 4 times now! Argh!).
German & Jed parking at "A" to "Z". (Option for 1 Jed car at "N").
Potential SAS parking at "H"
SAS camp on "Hill 486"
German camp at "Height 437"
The Jed start point is close to the road, at an area that's been used for shelter building, in fact, exactly the type of shelters that I'm covering on the training day! Makes a handy place to cache bergens before setting of to retrieve the 3 caches, also marked on the map. This spot also becomes the Jed's lay up area for saturday night.
The Jed FRV is where they retrieve a final cache, before moving into the SAS camp.
The road between "F" and "Z" is the main supply route (MSR) for the Germans.
The MG Bunker at point "X" will have to be constructed and then manned.
The Nebelwerfer will fire on the hour, every hour, towards point "D".
The SAS have discretion to mine/block roads between "J" and "K" and also along the MSR.
The Jeds will have orders to mine between "E" and "D" along the MSR.
Captured players kit will be "dropped" in the ditch between "E" and "D", on the north side of the road.
The Mortar will need ranging in on the point marked "DF", which will then become the location of the radio direction finder. This is to allow the Germans a defensive, final protective fire on the DF kit, should the enemy overrun it.
