Was having a bit of a chat to Stuart at Farnham Militaria fair. Gadge's name came up, and then he mentioned the PBI thing he'd done. I mentioned in passing the Op Jedburgh event and he seemed to like the idea.
Should we issue an official invite? - be good to have him along for the weekend and show him that gay little 40 minute long scenario's played out a la PBI are, well, really quite gay.

Brilliant idea Jay. If we have him spend the event with the Germans, he'll a) Be more comfortable and b) Get to spend time with fellow reenactors (the blaggers) and c) Be with 3 CiA organisers and d) Not be around Gadge.

Incidentally, AFRA have bought a half page advert in every issue of the mag - for the use of Affiliate groups. Since CiA is one of them it would be churlish to tun down advertising paid for by AFRA!
He also said that he's more than happy to put press releases about future events into the news section for our events.

A bit of free publicity never killed anyone! I also think it's worthwhile to cultivate at least some kind of friendship with Stuart, if only to stop Gadge from brainwashing him.

God almighty, just read Stuarts review of one of Josh's events.

Yeah, unique in that someone told 47 Commando that there was a burger van on site and Stuart's lot were unfortunately between them and it. And DC? unique in that BigfuckwitUK's ego was so large it took an arty strike to take it out...

Stuart has a very commercial head on and just like Monaf is quite happy to take full page ad fees off anyone silly enough to pay for them, regardless of the effectiveness of the medium! Even if it means non-critical "reviews" as a consequence.
At this stage Stuart is happy to fill his mag with pages of text and photos supplied for free on the basis of reciprocal benefit, which is fair enough, same with all niche magazines as well as many mainstream mags. Well, fair dos, he did re-mortgage the house to get the mag launched!
I didn't renew my subscription this year though. LOL.
