The last of the fields have been harvested barring one which I knew was going to be out of bounds anyway. The field that we are going to be using for camping is nice and flat but very stubbly. People may want to look at running their car over the bit of ground they intend pitching their tents on, to flatten the stubble down a bit or it's going to be like sleeping on an organic bed of nails.
Also ask that common sense is used with cooking fires for brews etc.
Hi guys, i'm going Hg for the first day at least and was wondering if i could change to a fifth coloumist for the hun, would that be possible? Cheers Craig

Er no, I have spies in the camp but cant really have players changing sides randomly, otherwise it will just break down into a shoot fest, stay loyal to your team fella, you wont know the infiltrator (hopefully) untill it's too late
Coupla questions: what's the earliest on Friday we can arrive? And are there toilets / water facilities available ?
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Is there a DVD player or should i try and bring one?

Zero Bravo is away at GZ for the NAE weekender,
Yep there are full toilet facilities at Ford

There is running water in the toilet blocks, and IIRC in the building next to the office (I vaguely recall seeing a vending machine - coke etc in there and a kettle)and I'm pretty sure that there is an outside tap aswell
Not sure what is arranged for arrival time for the weekender - but Ford (rifle ranges) are open all day to the best of my knowledge, but probably best to confirm with ZB
Cheers, Scrunch.

Hi guys I'm back from the carnage that is the NAE and really looking forward to this much more civilised event!
Andy I'll check with the range, but I cant see any problems with you turning up at any time. Scrunch answered everything else.
I think it would be a great idea to have a kit sale, it would help some of the Veterans to offload surplus gear that you just dont need anymore and it would be great for a lot of the new guys that are just starting out to pick up some bargains. I appreciate that car space can be tight but if you want to earn some beer money then this seems to be the best way!
I'll check with the range, see what arrangements we can come up with and will start another thread.
What time are you getting there, Jimbo?
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
Probably about 08.00 Friday morning to spend all day doing the final bits of setting things up, dressing the range and generally helping doing whatever needs doing. Not sure yet if I'm sleeping over on Friday or not yet, leaving that decision untill later.
There will be a young photographer there by the name of James George and he will be the only guy taking pictures of you guys in action. He has a website and when he's uploaded his pics you will be able to access the private section with a passcode, where you will be able to buy individual prints of varying sizes of photos. This seems the best way to do it as you only need to purchase pictures of yourself and maybe a group photo, rather than a load of photos you dont want.
The public will have no access to this to respect your privacy.
What are planning to get from Sabre mate?

To Canadian Tank, the public are the best ones to speak to. We did a display at Yapton recently, and an old fella was telling me about loading Bren mags for the soldiers, to earn pocket money!
Either day is good to visit in that respect.

Yes there will be civilians allowed in and they will be charged a nominal rate for gate entry, we are raising money for the Legion after all. There will be a lot of the locals who were kids in the war and they will be able to tell you loads about the Canadians, there are also some local history groups attending and they can tell you a lot of info too. The gentleman who was telling me about the Bren gun mags described the Canadians as "A bloody rough lot!" They were based all around this area during the war, especially before the Dieppe raid. It's one of the reasons the home guard were so well trained in this area, the Canadians had nothing else to do!
Whilst doing a HG event i met a chap from poland who was in the 8th army and in both seiges of tobruk, placing the dummy men and aa guns!

It looks like we have upwards of 40 vehicles coming. Some of those may be post war but all military, some will have single drivers, some will have crew and passengers, so there may be more re-enactors than airsofters at this event! Some of the re-enactors have been asking about safety glasses and borrowed guns, so I'm bringing everything hoping I can help to increase numbers of the Army Group South.
I'll bring along some gunz too - dont forget the SLR Jimbo - can we pretend its a BAR!
