Or do the capture of Menton, and maken it more site friendly
I do find the early battles between the French and the Italians rather interesting, though it'd never happen in airsoft; it'd be too difficult to concentrate on the fighting without stopping constantly to admire each others kit!

Typical Italians and French, too much standing around and not enough fighting

Ralph

Haha that is true, are you coming to the rifle game in September? I expect some very simular experiences there
I agree it'll probably never happen, but a man can dream. We would have to build some french fortresses though and that would be awesome
I still find the early battles ridiculous, Italian loses being so high vs the french, just for Mussolini to save face,
Yes I'm hoping to, I'll just have to sort out logistics and such but if that's all sorted then yes definitely. Looking forward to seeing your Italian kit in person!
Yeah forts would make it amazing, but mountainous, Alp-like terrain would be far more doable. I wonder if there's any airsoft sites in the lake district/Brecon area?
I believe it was a similar story when the Italians went up against the Greeks, Mussolini wanting to save himself from being embarrassed in front of Hitler.
Indeed! Same again in Russia lol
Though the soldiers fought bravely, the disorganisation, lack of decent supply/weapons/ammo and lack of mechanisation played repeat through the whole war!
I forgot you've not seen the green-gray featheryness yet! Loads of fun, glad your probably going to make it
I'm very tempted to start looking for sites and such, even if it ends up being 2 players! haha
As for forts, well...when I've finished the house i'll need something else to focus on
I've sorted out travel so I'm going to book on soon, really looking forward to seeing all that grigio verde , I'll just be in plain BD and 37 patt.
I've thought up a way a French uniform could be had very cheaply, by dyeing a Swedish M59 jacket brown, removing the bum pockets and dyeing a pair of Swedish serge trousers brown and removing the cargo pockets and replacing any buttons with French style ones. I'm sure there's a similar way for Italian to be done just as cheaply, so maybe dreams can one day become reality...
I'm sure some pillbox sized temporary bunkers wouldn't be too difficult to knock up, maybe a mini Maginot line type affair is doable?

We played Hauptmann Horn in the Brecon training area, that was quite sufficiently hilly to wipe everyone out. The Cerberus site near Otley is also pretty hilly/mountainous (Devils Hill), as is the Ex-site in north wales (Monte la Difensa, along with some other games).
These are all fine and dandy, but as they are at the extremities of the country, you will struggle for numbers.

Hauptmann Horn site was a killer! Probably as steep as you would want for an event (of unfit airsofters!).
God yes. It took four hours to move a mile (although we did stop for something to eat halfway). By the evening it was all we could do crawl back to the camp, I just remember every sitting around the fire with 1000 yard stares not saying much. Very memorable, one of the best WW2 games ever, only fired 40 rounds all day.
Cheers

Dragging this one up from the past, this might be of interest. It's all in french though.

One minute in and the acting and special effects have got me hooked, who cares what they're saying.
I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.
Yes, a bit overboard with the slo mo head shots and San Jose gore (it's like Kensington gore but a bit more hi tech).
