Hi
I'm going to be re-running the weekend event at Fort Amhurst Chatham Kent on the 18th-19th of sept after I had to unfortunately cancel last years event due to my fathers death. It’s based roughly on a early 1945 scenario invasion of Germany. Amhurst is a Napoleonic Fort near the centre of Chatham kent, the site is a mixture of woodland and buildings. The price will be £30 for the weekend unfortunately £5 more than the last event due to a price rise at the fort. Camping will be available at the site but you will have to supply lighting. A non refundable deposit of £15 will be required via cheque or paypal, pm me for my address or paypal details. If you want to do one day it will be £20. It will be limited to 20 players aside. No skrimmed weapons, flecktarn or modern kit please except boots. Briefing for Sat and Sun 9.45, start time 10.15

ALLIES
American GI
American Para
British tommy
British Para

AXIS
Waffen ss
Wehrmacht
Fallschirmjäger

The Sat scenario will consist of Axis forces defending the buildings and woodland against the allied onslaught into the Reich, with a small sub objective for the American or British forces depending on numbers. There will be an Ammo limit of 1000 rnds for Mp's, Rifles 100 and pistols unlimited mags per skirmish(2 skirmishes). The ammo limits are approx and would like to do it on trust of the individual players. There will be small ammo dumps scattered around the site providing free ammo to be shared out some will be defended by axis forces.Medic rules will be explained on the day and all marshalls decisions are FINAL. There will be a prize for the side that obtains all their objectives
Sunday's scenario will be an Axis counter attack clearing dug-in allies from the woodland and buildings. Again with small ammo dumps and sub objectives.
Any questions pm or post and I'll try to answer them asap.
Regards
Peiper :)

Tempted, talking to kroot about this (maybe just one day as 2 hour train journey from us).

Will be able to confirm after Sealion.

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.

It would be great if you could both make it as i have a short mission with pistols( I can supply them if needed) for a free french man or 2 before the game begins on sat. There basic camping in the disused buildings but i could see if i can get a few places in the barracks near the bottom car park.

Be warned, this weekend I was speaking to the organizer of the Pirate larp events I go to and he will be on site that weekend running some trial runs of stuff (he is on site the following weekend for a full blown scurvy scum event) and a "talk like a pirate day" event at the fort. So do not be surprised if you see some pirates (of the non edelweiss kind) about.

Nattering to Kroot on the way back, looks like a no show from us, I have obligations elsewhere that weekend and he is a bit short on cash. This is an official hurrah hurrumph as I did want to support this game by showing for at least one day :(

Oh bu@££$r! I would really like to come along - scenario sounds great. Unfortunately, i already have a boys' weekend scheduled , with guys coming from all corners of the globe (well Ireland and Newcastle). Fort Amhurst sounds a great location. Best of luck with this chaps!

Well i've had a look round the fort yesterday and they have had a bit of a tidy up! The bit by the chapel which used to have a hedge and fence has been cleared so there is no cover. And there been a bit of bramble clearence at the top behind the magazine bunker. The quantity of free beer has been aquired as well as the ammo for the ammo dumps. So it's already to go.

I have to agree with Rich (i was the other Yank) I really enjoyed the game. The Germans from the 2nd Battle Group are a worthy foe. It's a shame that when you take the time and effort to put on games like this, it is not well attended, there loss, Have you noticed the ones that shout that they never get games nr them, never turn up ????
I like Rich would love another game, until then.

Thanks,
Rob. :good:

Lt. Morris Schaffer: "Second rate punk," eh?
Major John Smith: Sorry. All I could think of on the spur of the moment.
Lt. Morris Schaffer: Thanks, that makes it even worse.

You might have a good point, there. Perhaps they are the sort of people who will never get off their backside to go to a game at all ?! Well done to Peiper for making it happen - as a some-time event organiser, I know the effort it takes. I'm sorry I couldn't attend myself, but it was only 2 weeks after Sealion, and 2 weeks before Devil's Hill. Due to being a carer, an event once a month is the absolute maximum I can really do. We all approach things differently, but I always like to give people as much notice for events as I can, since it gives them more time to sort real life stuff, such as swapping work shifts / on-call, babysitting, etc.

I'd like to thank all those who attended and made it a very enjoyable weekend and a hard fight. It was a shame about the small numbers but it was hard fighting on both sides, as my hands from karls accuracy in the buildings and the one shot at close range on my arse with jims thompson are still smarting!Congratulations to the Allies on sat for pushing us out of all our positions in the buildings, woodland, bunker and finally holding the ridge against the counter attack by the Fuhrers finest. And well done to the Axis forces for counter attacking today and obtaining all of the objectives.I'll post some pics soon.
