Hi Guys
the chaps over at Free Fire Zone has asked me to post the following

"During the later months of the summer of 1944 many stubborn pockets of axis resistance remain across the French border with Germany.
One of these areas is Le Bulby wood. It has changed possesion three times as the Axis counterattacks push back into allied territory, only to be driven back under the support of Aliied air and artillery cover. The US Firebase there must once and for all be captured and secured as a base for further advances, or destroyed so Axis forces cannot use it for their own needs..."

This WWII campaign game will see saturday evening representing the allied patrols in Le Bulby wood searching out the last traces of German troops that are known to be in the area.

They have equipment to sabotage on their retreat and the task of destroying documents and booby trapping vital equipment falls on them as the last light of the day leaves us.

The Sunday will be one long scenario, with the Allies beginning in the smallest pocket of the region to spearhead a push over the La'cord river into Le Bulby wood. From there the fighting is expected to see saw back and forth as the German battery Hoff 16 miles away lobs the last of its shells into the wood as their artillery officers do all they can to keep the allies out of their country.
The Artillery officers will be prized and will have their work cut out making the Allies lives a living hell!

This event is expected to be a correct kit event for the purists of you and hi caps will only be allowed with limited ammo capacities as we understand some of the difficulties involved with getting period equipment.

Determined efforts must be made to look the part!
Boots and underwear will not be checked by us!

The game fee is £25 for the evening and day game plus camping on site,
all places must be pre-booked and paid in full by June 16th.

The site will be open from 13.00 on the saturday, we are expecting evening play to start at 18.00-19.00hrs on the saturday. End of game on Sunday will be 16-17.00 hrs depending on players travel concerns.

E-mail games@freefirezone.co.uk for further details or booking paperwork
or call Firesupport directly to book over the phone 01733 247171 We'll see you on the field!

fps limit 345 for AEG and 500 for snipers

Well, I'll be around that weekend as I'm only 40 mins away from the site, anybody else interested?

"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

Not me, sorry.

It's the week after Dragoon and three weeks before Jedburgh, so I imagine it could be a bit of a struggle for those already committed to those events.

For the record, we have a calendar of WW2 events here, it's always worth checking that for clashes: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1868

Thats it, I can't make Dragoon now because of the Mother in law to be coming home from Canada, and Jed is a month away so am not too bothered, may be my chance to get some of my mate interested and over from skirmish only games.

Much the same thing happened with the Nam game there last year... That was scheduled on the same day as the Nam event at F&O Matlock and had minimal advertising.

Anyway I can't get because of the closeness of other events, etc...

Yes the same as both the Vietnam games really. :banghead: I won't be surprised if this gets called off.

He has at least announced the next Vietnam game well in advance. I'm going to nag him to get more info up and advertise more as well as setting a kit guide up.

It's the AI Mag one on the 14th - 15th Aug.

Have just got back from his shop as I really needed to get out of the office, so far as I have found out is, 600rnd/life limit as people may have STG44's or other weapons without low/mid caps, also no DPM or equivilent, so that is good, and they are looking for people to play Allies as a lot of the home group are going as German's, they have wanted to branch out in to WW2 for a while now since Vietnam games became popular.

Get them to send some of the Germans this way! There seems to be a drop in German numbers recently.

I'd be interested to see who these Germans are, I've never seen another player in German kit at Bulby.

They are new to it and they are looking at getting all the kit in time, personally I think it could be a shambles, but like watching a car wreck I'm interested in going.

A bit late?, well I will probably have an email waiting for me at work asking me to go German for this, but only 5 people so far would say to me, postpone it to a later date, if they cancel after I've pay'd I'm going to be getting my money back.

I thought you were booking for Jedburgh at the end of this month anyway?

Obviously, the thread title is a bit of a giveaway on that account! I meant that, if you don't go to FFZ, then Jedburgh is only a couple of weeks later.
