I would like to say a big thank you to all you guys that attended, because without you, all my efforts would have been wasted. The standard of kit was only surpassed by the standard of gameplay. In the three years that I've been involved with airsoft at Worthing, I have never seen such high standards of gameplay.
Thanks Peiper and the lads for showing us what can be achieved in kit accuracy, although I fear us airsofters wont ever come near your standards, at least we know how good it looks when you get it right. The guys from Epsom, Kroot and the lads also made a stirling effort in their first attempt. Fred and Pimms set the standard for the allies with the other guys making the effort as well, Spyker and his mate, representing the yanks and the others who were in looks alike just to try their first WW2 soft game.
It was a pleasure to play host to you all and I do hope to run another game later in the year, but I've leared the vital lesson to check that I'm not clashing with anyone elses events :)

Lol if it wasn't for the fact that this is a forum I'd call for 3 cheers for jimbo for organising an awsome weekend.

Thanks Jimbo for a great weekend :good:

Gameplay and kit set at such a high standard that I want more... now

Good to meet all you guys and put faces to names.

Hopefully we Epsom lot will be able to support any more games you do, even if I have to drive them forward with a sword

Can't say much more than has already been said - excellent stuff Jimbo - look forward to the next one.

Also learned some valuable lessons such as when lighting pyros its not a good idea to have your thumb in the flame!

Now how about Sealion..................

Now how about Sealion..................

...Hmmm
I know Steiner said that the idea has already been thrown around by some of the CiA bigwigs, so I wouldn't want to tread on any toes. One thing for sure it would be a crime to hold Sealion "up North" having had a quick look on wiki about the details, it's got to be a game held on the south coast, which puts it in our patch.
I'll have a recce of Newhaven Fort, but as I mentioned, the ground rent is high there. Although we probably wouldnt have access untill November when it shuts to the public, and due to it's extreme coastal location, the wind would be a big factor to take into account.
I'll do some more research into the idea, and then put it to the back room boys, and see what we could come up with.
Not promising anything yet, but watch this space....

Angel, I'm hooked, it was such a pleasure to run the game, that i'll definately run another as soon as possible. They take a lot more planning than your usual run of the mill airsoft games, but the games are so much better that it's worth it.

Stroppydog, thanks thats high praise indeed. I was thrilled with your kit levels and your tactics. At one point I was stood at the crest of the ridgeline watching you guys advance in an extended line, even spacing, good hand signals and coordination, and thought "fek" it's like watching a film. I'm really glad you guys had a good time as an introduction to airsoft, I just hope I can drum up some more allied players for the next game.

I checked out the film that I took and if I can work out film editing I'll chop out the boring bits and post up the highlights as soon as possible :good:

Now that's an interesting idea, some sort of timewarp meaning a battling group of ww2 troops are suddenly thrown forwards in time to find themselves up against multicam / DPM warriors, that much I can do and set it for March 15th if that's any good for you?

Pimms, can you reccy that for me?

Sounds like you guys all had a crackin' weekend, damn shame I couldn't be there especially as I'd met 4 or 5 of you the Sunday before. The WW2 v others game sounds a good laugh, I'll try and make sure my dear lady wife hasn't arranged any family trips to Cambridge next time.

Way ahead of you jimbo :D It's not in use anymore, infact its in ruins but it is still possible to make out what it once was.

Only problem is we would need to get onto shoram council, and probably say somthing anlong the lines of " oh its a live action reenactment" and civies would need to keep there distance.

It streches from sea to fort nicely with an abundance of cover and little hidy holes

Ghostman, thanks very much for your comments mate. Your tales of medieval reenacting and poking each other with blunt and sharpened objects made me feel glad I've only got a "Zit" on the side of my head from Fred!
It was a pleasure to host you all, and I'm already mulling over various options for the next game. It will be later in the year when the site has come into full foliage, which changes the gameplay entirely.
I'm meeting up with the photographer tomorrow evening (*shudders*) and hopefully will have some pics to post up.

untill then here's a vid of the explosion of the radar station from Alice who I must say was a very impressive player on the Allied side!

Edit: Ps. Love the sig :good:

There is a website dedicated to Shoreham Fort - http://www.shorehamfort.co.uk/

Its a really good spot, but I'm unsure who we would have to speak to about it, plus being near the port may be a problem. There's also a bit on the website about the Littlehampton fort. which I'd never heard of before.

Whaddya think - worth a punt for Sealion?

I know Littlehampton Fort very well, it's on the golf course and Ford Ranges do vermin controll there, so I've spent many evenings laid up there shooting little fluffy bunny rabbits for my dinner
That's a definate no no, it's very overgrown, on the golf course, a lot of public access all around it.

Thanks Jimbo. I'll do a bit of digging about Shoreham Fort and see what the score is.
