May do, all depends if the guys can give us some proper info about it, I had to go in to the shop and ask last year.
"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."
I'll probably be there since I'm free and it is on my doorstep. Some more info would be nice but I expect nothing less from Frank & John. I'll probably have a moan on Sunday.
spoke to john this week at fire support and he hasnt got the booking forms ready yet so no real hurry, will catch up with him on saturday and let you all know first hand straight from the horses mouth what the deal is. i'll be there whatever.
spoke to john today, he hasnt got the booking forms sorted yet but the event is still happening.
I can't make this one unfortunately, I'll be puffing around the Sheffield Half Marathon.
Shame as it is so close (well, closer than Wales or Dorset
Cheers

i'll be there as axis heer, should have the maxim finished too, then we'll see how many allied troops can make it to the radio station in one piece!
Should have made an MG42 instead of a Maxim, more mobile, it will be of little use on the second day in a fluid battle.
"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."
yeah i know its not going to be as mobile as needed but its easily carried by one man plus a second person to take the tripod if needed and very quick to set up. we got blasted away at border clash by the two guys with the maxim on the solokov mount, it was tricky for them to move it around but when they got into position we had it! i am also making an mg42 but the parts i need havent arrived from america yet, it wont be until later in the year the weapon will be operational, it certainly will be very mobile though.
hoping to make this game, can my jeep be used in game? if so will drive it up
Doug(Doc)Mac
to save a load of emails to you, what are the exact kit requirements?
Thanks in advance Stu
its a series of late war style missions, mopping up after d-day sort of stuff, any heer and allied uniforms will be fine, john is quite easy going and wants the weekend to be open to all.
Yeah thanks, I spoke to johnlast week so if I can go, will be in either 101st if my guys can make it or US 35th infantry my only german hit is a Russian front SS major
booking a couple of us on sat Axis (16th SS) see ya there
Definitely can't mske this now I'm afraid ! Sorry guys, John knows.
Hopefully be at next one
Have a gooden!
Doug
flecktarn! give me a break.. ive spend hundreds on my german kit, sombody turns up in flecktarn and i'll shoot him myself!
My son will be turning up in flecktarn so you might as well shoot yourself now, It has WW2 insignia on it but im sorry not everyone can afford full german gear.

We are happy as long as a decent effort is made to look the part. The weapons need to be correct of course. Flecktarn is acceptable for Germans at a push for example.
I would prefer all to be exact but have to balance that against a 10 a side game!If In doubt I am happy for people to query on it.
So far all booked have correct kit which is great.
john
I have piles of free rental kit if that helps John. Its all pucker gear, enough for about 10 germans?
I also have allied gear too?
Heer Schmidt
dont let me put you off turning up in flecktarn if its all you can afford but you've got to be respectfull to people who have made a serious effort to make their uniforms authentic. i wouldnt turn up at a the classic vw shows at santa pod and put my audi in the show n shine section. its not my call on the uniform its johns, why dont we all just wear flecktarn and pretend its some other conflict from the 70s or 80s maybe.
Ahem. Some general points, not necessarily aimed at previous posters.
It is up to the organisers to dictate what people can or cannot wear at events. They set the framework within which players attend.
Comrades in Arms have always taken the view that players wear what they have or can beg or borrow and that this comes from within. That is to say, it is not for others to dictate or criticise nor should players feel put upon, whether explicitly or otherwise. Similarly a player should be aware that they are not the only player in the game and should recognise the effort put in by others and that their experience might be dimmed by a cavalier approach or a gaming behaviour at odds with the scenario.
Josh has kindly offered kit, plenty of people will lend too, so there is no real reason for Flectarn to be worn these days.
Some events are aimed at WW2 enthusiasts and are tight on scenario and kit - others are more general themed airsoft events. You have a choice, there is something for everyone.
By the way, there is no such thing as 'reenactor standard' (they aren't a separate species)- it's either authentic to the period or it isn't!
