A bit late with this but, can I assume that the Germans will be Heer only? (Ie, there were no Waffen SS or FJ at Stalingrad).

Ah yes of course, I had missed that myself.

i Had no plans for SS at this game.

with only 15 spaces i think i can find 15 heer, and i wanted all feldgrau for this with helmets too. (helmets for both sides are prefered, and i know some hate them, i wont force it, but i would strongly prefer it.)

I will be able to loan out 3 x german helmets, and 2 x russain ones

ill have a chat with josh, and hopefully may be able to loan some russain kit, ill phone him tommorrow

Thanks for the reply mate. I just think that with your tight ammo limits and efforts to make it more realistic and immersive, it would be nice to keep it along the same lines uniform wise. You should have no problem getting 15 Heer troops for it, myself included.

In which case... M35 is the preferred uniform for the soviets... try and avoid shoulder boards!

M35 is indeed the preferred uniform. but i know not many people have ruski kit yet.

Can be overcome by wearing telogreikas and shinels instead of gymnasterkas. I'll probably have bothto spare along with a full heer uniform.

I think it would be wonderful if people did all have the M35 Gymnastiorka with subdued collar insignia (or none at all) and without shoulder boards, but I do understand that that could be awkward for some.

But do note that greatcoats (shiniel) and padded jackets (telegroika) will hide the mistakes.

Oh and note that both the styles of padded jackets are appropriate, no need to think you have to have the rise and fall collar type, just cos Jude Law wears that one.

Headgear would be helmet, pilotka or ushanka.

As with Lardy I will most likely have both greatcoat and padded jacket available to lend.

ok with the garands due in a couple of weeks , myself and a friend or 2 are looking ta this event , so how is easy and whats the best way to get a russian load out - i would prefer accurate to sort of looks right but not a huge budget and prefer not loan if i can , i looked at the front of russia stuff that any good ?

oh yeah, torches, are we doing 'period/period style' torches?

You know my opinion already I am sure, nowt worse then LEDs spoiling the atmosphere.

Most definatly period torches or modern torch with a bulb

No super bright leds

And NO TAPEING TORCHES TO GUNS!

Arrive on site from 0800, saftey breif 0900-0915 , aiming for a 0930 kick off. and finish at 1630-1700

Bring some grub to much in game, im planning on going straight through. if the majority of people do want a propper lunch break, ill stop for 30-40 mins
