So south staffs is a mandatory kit for joining PBI? I intend to get some British kit sometime soon and was planning to go for line infantry since I'm already going for FJ as German. I had thought about going as the Lincolnshire regiment (as thats where I live) but wouldn't mind changing to fit in. Would you mind my tagging along with PBI when you play as line infantry even if I don't bother with the staffs look for now?

Basically one of the ideas behind PBI is to create some uniformity in the British ranks, in the same way that the Germans have Grossdeutschland and Hohenstaufen, and the US have popular units like the 101st Airborne.

There's nothing stopping you putting together a Lincs regiment kit and playing on the Allied side in games, we've no intention of trying to get all the brit players joining PBI, but really to be part of the PBI group, we'd rather you went with the South Staffs in order to get the numbers up and create a good, coherent unit.

Brilliant Jez

How are you with regards to kit, do you need to borrow any?

We have a bit of spare stuff between us.

Hi it's your medic here !
Just a quick note to say that I now have a denison (belgian) some gators and have just finished with the grinder cutting down my swiss helmet so I now have an airborne helmet as well .
I have also got a TM thompson just need to sort out the webbing now .

I have been reading all the PBI stuff I can and have found it very useful I was in the worcester and sherwood foresters as a cadet some years ago but would feel more at home in a sherwood foresters badge as thats what my forefathers were in during the first world war ,one died at pashendale and another was promoted sargent major from corporal after the first day of the somme .
He was the highest rank left standing out of 60 odd survivors from his battalion of around 560 but he was hit on the second day anyway ,still had shrapnel coming out of his legs at 92 .
(he played for stockport united between wars even though they had said he would not walk)

I would like to be the unit medic again next time I get the chance .
Big thanks to Yith for getting the cap badge to me ,I have sewn it on but I suspect it will have to come off next time we face combat .
Which brings me to my next question when is the next time ?
I would be happy just popping along to an ordinary skirmish to do some training in squad maneuvers just to get a bit better as I missed your training day .
Also what was this mention of Sicily? I have been looking on CIA but nothing jumps out at me .
Thanks again for a wicked event.
Should say I don't mind traveling to events as long as I get at least another seat in my van filled to split fuel it does around 30-35 to a gallon and could be called perfect airsofting transport lots of space for kit ,props etc.

Hi Dayglow, was great to have you at Op Varsity. The next PBI-specific event has not yet been announced, but Brits are welcome at most of the events advertised on here. eg. Operation Haggard in July (see the specific forum section  )

No problem in your own time mate, in the meantime we usually have enough kit to loan out to a prospective player as long as you're not massive or tiny.

So having been considering playing WW2 airsoft for a while I finally decided to really go for, with the encouragement of a mate who has a load of yank kit & the fact that 'the Hill' is not too far away so it will hopefully be a regular thing. I'm aiming to get an airborne loadout but only problem is, I wasn't going for a South Staffords look, do you think there'd be room for a Recce Corp member in the group?

Afraid its south staffs really mate.

Nothing to stop you playing as what you want at games but to be at PBI private battles or training days or events where we go as a team we all badge up the same.

The reality of it is in field kit were talking about a £3 cap badge.

By all means badge you BD up as recce corp if you want for other events and games but you'll nearly always be wearing your denison in battles.

May seem harsh but it does keep us looking as cohesive unit, if we let folk choose cap badges willy nilly it starts looking stupid and as John says, if you've jeep or a bren carrier then we can happily let you be recce corp.

The only non south staffs roles we really allow are GPR and in the past we've had an attached RAMC sgt but these were really scenario driven rather than permanent roles in the group.
