To be honest, the quotes we've had have been ridiculous. One bloke quoted us 400 to do 2 chimneys. We agreed, then he suddenly decided he'd need scaffolding after saying he wouldn't need it, and wanted another 700!! On yer bike!!! We had another quote over the 1000 mark - people just don't want to do it, so are giving daft quotes.

to be honest mate anywhere between 700 and 1000 is about right, scaffolding isnt cheap, and these days with h+s you cant work off ladders without a huge fine.the one i am doing will be about 780 with the new flashings.is it insurance work? or just maintainance?

Post war scaffolding btw is easy to spot as all the metal work comes in black and the clamps have quick release screws.
