My proposed initial orders for discussion:

WITH UTMOST SECRECY

OPERATION MASTER PLAN

It is with a glad heart that I welcome you to certainly one of the most important missions this war has yet seen.
Due to it's high level of secrecy it won't be glorified in future books and films but it will change the course of history, of that there can be no mistake.
And by volunteering for this mission you will be part of that history changing moment.

Men of the Allied forces, you have each been selected for your specialist skills, both mental and physical.
This isn't by any means a regular force - amongst us we have specialists in covert operations, telecommunications, code breaking and signal analysis, electro and mechanical engineering, demolitions, marksmanship, biology and more.
Each of you recommended by your company commander and final selection has been made by the highest authority, such is the critical nature of this mission.
Drawn as you are from all quarters of the Allied forces, unit cohesion must be rapid as we don't have the luxury of time on our hands.
Squad discipline must be 100%, actions executed with precision, orders followed to the letter.

A brief outline of the task ahead. I have been attached to covert operations for the past year tasked with monitoring Hitler's plans for European domination. This goes way beyond regular warfare and threatens to bring a new era of terror. If allowed to come to fruition all the death and destruction seen so far in this god-forsaken war will pale into insignificance. Centred in a deep and secret bunker is a research establishment. We know that the top scientists from both Germany and the occupied countries are working there, we know something about the materials that are being brought into the bunker but what we don't know for sure is what they are working on but our best guess is so horrific as to be almost imaginable. They have called it 'Projekt Wotan' and such is Hitler's passion for the project materials, man power and resources have priority over fighting units across Europe.

But we have a chance, and only one chance to stop Hitler's game. British RAF bombers have been bombing the area hard over the past weeks. Intelligence has revealed that damage to the structure has been so great that work has been interrupted - as far as we know the bunker has been evacuated. Clearly it wont be long before efforts are made to make repairs and continue operations however, my best guess is that Hitler realises that the bunker will be over-run by Allied forces very soon and will be sending recovery parties into the complex to extract plant and materials and move them somewhere more secure deeper in Germany. We don't have time on our hands if we are to avoid fighting our way in and out, but be prepared for a fight we must be. Men, this isn't going to be easy but the future of the Western world rests in our hands.

Good luck and God speed.
Major Warner 94th Signals Div. attached to Office of Strategic Services

Brilliant stuff dave.

If i could say one thing its that 'bio sciences' soudns a bit modern, could we think of a more retro souding title.

But the tone, content and style is brilliant, io really am nit picking there so dont wory about that one thing.

Good point. Not sure about 'Allied Covert Operations Divison' either - I expect there is something more authentic rather than made up!

Ah yes, I was trying to think of something that was inclusive of both Brits and Yanks but I suppose if the Americans are running Operation Master Plan (heh, another made up bit :P ) then I would be OSS and Brits brought into the US operation (under duress but at the insistence of Churchill :P ).

Very nice David! I'll come up with a German one tonight.

Expect lots of threats of posting to the Eastern Front should they fail, as has happened already to those who abandoned the facility in the first place!

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........

very nice... :)

Just a couple of typos:

"monitoring Hitler plans " => "monitoring Hitler's plans "

"Allied forces very soon as will be sending"=>"Allied forces very soon and will be sending"

*Natch* Grammar Nazi was on lunch so was beaten to it! ;)

Very, VERY nice Dave.

I'd change your avatar to a Yank one if possible before posting though. Some of the Allies might get confused....

I'm going to post up my 'resume' as a background to why I am there - thought it might be fun to encourage others to build up their own persona, given that we are a bunch of oddballs on a specialist mission.

I think all this makes sense....

David Chomley-Warner
Born 1895, New York, USA

Parents:
Hilary Chomley, born 1870, Kingston upon Thames, UK
Franklin Warner, born 1869, Michigan, USA (Married in USA, 1894)

Moved with parents to UK following father’s appointment as US Ambassador 1906 – 1915. Then parents returned to US leaving CW to finalise education.

Chomley-Warner graduated from Oxford in 1917 with Ba Hons in History.
Returned to US and followed his father into the diplomatic service.
Passed through several government agencies including fledgling secret services.

Joined US Army in 1928 as officer setting up specialist photoreconnaissance capability and later signal interception and decryption. Seconded to Bletchley Park as early US assistance to the UK war effort then moved to Southwick House and was involved with US/UK plans for Normandy landings. Now Major Chomley-Warner he established 94th Counter-Intelligence Corps in 1944. Position with the Office of Strategic Services was formalised mid 1944 with specific brief to gather data on Hitler’s advanced warfare plans.
