considering the musical talents of No.2 squad I have decided to enhance your Political Perception by assigning you Concert Party detail. We woul like a performance of the comedy classic "Ooh Comrade Stalin, You Are Awful"

I'm curious about what this artillery piece I'm crewing is like: specifically its size, ease of mobility, gun shield, range and rate of fire. As insofar I am the only gunner I might have to change my name to Alexander Divochkin.

Everything for the Front. Everything for Victory.

These will be the two AT guns that Josh uses at his Gunman games. They have wheels and gunshields. Each requires a crew of at least two people so you won't be the only gunner

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsqVpVIbyUw watch from 03.26

There will also be a large naval turret gun that will be fired remotely. No crew needed for that.

Looks and sounds rather impressive. The mortar seen earlier in the clip, is that part of our fire support too?

Yes. Those ones are very old fashioned though. The new ones are much nicer

As a bit of set dressing I have a suitable wooden ammo box (Covered in Cyrillic Stencills) that could be used to carry ammo for the mortar or the AT guns if the shells will fit. Internal dimensions are 36.5cm x 31.5 cm x 10.5 cm.

Sure. All of that adds to the immersion :D
Be aware that this is a combat scenario and props used at these events can sometimes get rough handling from other players, so don't bring anything that is valuable or irreplaceable.

I have re-jigged our order of battle. Rifle squad No.3 will be trained in the operation of defensive field guns.

If you want to swap around, let me know.

Ooh Ooh artillery! That's almost tempting, particularly as Josh seems to be volunteering me to dig latrines! But in the interests of the safety of the defenders of the motherland I shall remain an engineer.

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

As it sounds like Support Squad is going to have to conduct dangerous combat engineering tasks such as latrine construction under fire, I can easily double up as signaller and support gunner to provide covering fire. I'm used to Josh telling me where to set the automatic rifle up :)

Cheers
