Hi Warren
I'm sort of in the same boat as Syd as I've got original (Italian) wood stock, fore grips and butt plate and shortly to take delivery of an ACM M14 - Can you let me have a price for the front end and fitting please?
Cheers
Nick

Warren - do you sell the mag well adapters to take the shotgun mags on there own? Fancy an M1 but want to go DIY at the mo... except for the mag that is
Following your suggestions I ordered 6 acm shotgun mags from rsov total cost to my door in 4 days, £18.
Cut off the little extension on the top of the mag so the upper surface is smooth. Cut a 'notch' in the rear of the mag so that the M1 (M14) mag release holds it in place. Took about 10 mins to do all 6, brilliant idea Warren.
However.......
In the course of testing all the mags, my rifle now will only fire full auto. It doesn't matter were the selector switch is. When set on semi, sometimes it fires single shots but invariably every third or fourth shot it goes into auto. Took a look at the the trigger/actuation mech and it appears that the electric 'switch' is not being lifted above the trigger sear as it should in semi auto. There is a small lever, connected to the selector switch by a plastic link that runs around the rear of the weapon, that looks like it runs on a cam in the gearbox and should lift the electric switch past the sear thus only permitting a single shot. (hope this makes sense ) It appears that the lever is slightly out of sync and doesn't lift at the correct time to lift the switch.
Any ideas
I only ever use it on semi, is there a mod to disengage auto and have it on semi only?
Thanks

Ah ha,
From further investigations in this and other sites it would appear that prolonged semi auto use wears the 'cut off lever' apparently a common problem.
Anybody know where I can get one before the 2nd of March?

glad you tryed it and made a good job mate,
i thinks its the best upption for the acm mags rather than the TM shot shells,
and a lot quicker to insurt when you need them to go in on the first try rather than trying to line up the tm shells,
lets just hope they come out with a larger cap and we,l all be laffing
ye the china made m14 do piss about a lot woith the selector, i changed that part over for a tm part, but they are differant in shape and thicker, so a little file work will get them in fine,

Used the mags today at a walk on at GZ. Worked flawlessly.

How it looks in my 'M1'
Just got to fix the semi auto now, 13 rounds doesn't last very long if the rifle switches to full auto

i allso tock off the small lip you can see at the frount of the mag, on a sander, just keps it looking a little better on the underside and will allso help with snags on sand bags, window frames etc,
glad they all worked for you mate,
when i first tryed them out i milled out the follower on the 2 1/2 of the mag, went as fare as i could to 24bb cap i think befor going just two fare, so there is a way to increase the small cap in them, but only try this if you have access to a mill, cos the followers will have to be very clean with out any nicks for the bb,s to run well,

Steve - good to meet you at the weekend mate, (thanks to Steiner for the intro), and may I say the M1 looks the dogs danglies. I know you said these mags are out of stock at RSOV just now, but what am I looking for when they come back in - I think you mentioned a model number, but to quote Clint Eastwood- "in all this excitement I can't remember!"

I have got a feed working from TM Shotgun shells into my M1 now, so you can do either.

Will do when I get home, its getting the Shell to stay snug inside the magwell thats the problem. Theres no way of making it clip in.
arrr i see, i still feal its a matter of getting them in first time that was the problem with my mag well insert,

If you remove the M14 mag release catch, and its associated mechanism, it should just leave you the trigger guard and the Hook to mount it onto the gun, once this is out, the shotgun shell fits snugly between the safety catch and the spout were the BBs go into the hole. I made a tube through 90 degrees so the BBs feed in, only problem is, any sort of knock and the Shotgun shell becomes dislodged. Need some sort fo rubberised grip to keep it in there, but also have a tag for popping it out when it is empty.
Hey guys,
Just got my Garand in the post today...and i must say its really nice.nice one warren.
I was wondering, it seems to have been sprayed dark brown i was just wondering if thats an after thought from the guy i bought it from. or they all come like that?
Its 2nd hand but the best sort of second hand having never been skirmished, or taken outside.
I was hoping to weather the stock but im not sure i can now. Any ideas?
Been tinkering with the idea of getting a wood set for my S&S garand, the sprayed brown-ness is wearing off the stock where my hands have been, would it be easy to fit warren?
