The one German gun I've always wanted was the MP41. I like the fuctionality of the MP40, but I've always liked wood-stocked weapon better.

Perhaps an idea for a conversion, warren? The working parts, well, essentially all of the gun could be ACM MP40, with a plastic or wood rifle stock - easily made from a spare MP001 stock. What does everyone think?

The reason I put it up here, is that I'm pretty crap with this stuff, and would balls it up. :)

nice idea, i might have to have a look into it.

i haven't dismantled my mp40 yet though to see if there's anything inside the main trigger grip that would get in the way?

If it's doable, I think it would be smart as - and if anyone was thinking of making and selling one, I'd be interested!

Hows the Nagant coming along, mate?

the MP001 mechanism is in the stock and working, so that's all fitted, at the moment i'm just working on cutting out the magazine housing, then i just need to make a replacement outer barrel of the right size so the front end looks the part.

it's getting there! :D

Nice one. I used to do Soviet kit exclusively, so I'm especially interested in this. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

dm, mostly just the on/off swich at the base of the grips, that would be easy to relocate,

Nice manual! :happyclap:

Does it exists(or existed) with laminated stock like the G43, and kar98K?

Because if I can get a ruined MP40(or even the front, and above parts of the receiver) I may make one with my V7 box, and custom long nozzle(I don't want to use the original box because M14's is much better). I want to use laminated light brown stock(I have spare laminated beech wood from my SV98 project).

As it was produced at the early years of war I am sure that the stock was not made of plywood or similar solid wood substitute. Laminated stocks were introduced with the shortage of thick and long pieces of solid wood (approx '43)
