The model looks great mate! ;)

Having tried (and bought!) The windproof kit personally, it really is great quality. I only buy original or top quality repro and these are the best of the latter - good durable material and correct pattern of cuffs for the original windproof we've come across.

Don't be put off by the sizes of the jackets being large - I'm a 40 chest and 32 waist and as you can see from the photos the fit is great.

Cheers

Euan

Looking very good. When I've got the money I'll have to buy a tan one.

Very nice, looks like you've got the tan colour of the 'drab' suits spot-on, unlike some of the more expensive manufactures *cough*Pegasus*cough*
Though I'm not sure about the manufacture of a green twill version - I mean, yes there were green twill smocks produced post-war, but they weren't to this pattern. Perhaps shift production to white twill for snow-white suits which would be more accurate?

Some little things may I suggest to make them both more accurate and cheaper/quicker to produce?:

The cotton drawstrings would be best if off-white/'natural' cotton* on all garments - the browny-green denim suits, snow-white suits, and drab suits all had off-white draw-string (though some did replace them with other things, like paracord) - only the camo windproof suits had colour-matched drawstrings.

Get rid of the button-up cuff tabs on the smock arms and trouser legs - again, these weren't present on any model of the suits apart from the camo windproofs (and some later pattern smocks produced post-war) and would be more accurate and save time and effort fitting them during your production. Pegasus Militaria also made this faux-par on some of their 'drab' smock production[/list:u:6ulj4qfa]

*hood drawstring = 1" wide 'natural' coloured single-herringbone twill tape
waist drawstring (same for both smock and trousers) = 1.5" wide 'natural' coloured braid-weave tape

McVickers, just so you know chap there's no button tab on the smock jackets at all, I've just rolled the sleeves up as I wasn't wearing a battledress and correct uniform beneath the windproofs for these photos! :D

Think the greens ones are a great generic product, I'll be getting one just to wear as a jacket and I'm sure that's what they were intended for too! :good: I'd definitely recommend getting one mate, a seriously nice product.

thanks for the impot vickers,
we did however send over original samples for the smock and trousers

we all so sent over a 42 dated snow smock, 44 dated camo trousers,

as we all know there were small variations from maker to maker, and it was a long time in coming to find the sand smock ;) oh the shade is very nice again cos we sent over an unissued set of trousers, i think 42 dated,
so over all i,m/we,r very pleased with the results as these are just the samples,

i allso had the skelaton and assult vest,s in this week,
again still more detail to get 100% but a very god start,
but again this is the result of 8 months work with our makers :)

i,l get picks up soon but i need to do a little work on the assult vest as i want to water proof the canvas etc etc,

the green smock was to be an aftermarket/were out smock shooting walking etc, but will allso fit in for the denim smock,
i may send an original postwar olive smock over to be copyed yet, we,l see :)

thanks again
