Whatever the consensus is. I haven't worn battle dress in ages. If the weather is pissing it down then wind proofs are advised; they're a cracking bit of kit. If it's just cold though you can't go wrong with battle dressmand a tasteful leather jerkin. ;)

Battledress and jerkin sounds good to me, I hope it's cold enough for the balaclava too!

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

I'm feeling a bit Lovat,although a Balaclava is tempting.

It is always cold in January, which is great as you can load up on ridiculous warm clothing you wouldn't normally wear in a game. Last year I didn't take my gloves and balaclava off all day, but that is paper thin German stuff.

A wool shirt and BD has proved to be quite warm enough in the past, with a Denison on top turning the whole ensemble into the usual buckets of sweat experience.

Ha ha, how did you yanks manage that?! I don't know what sector you were in Chris because my photo was taken at the end of the day on the walk back after end-ex!

All my, admittedly very few, photos seem to show snow:
