Yes, I'll bring a hammer and nails to test on next visit - sandstone is very soft so it will be OK to nail into but will it hold?

If the nails are long enough! *Has visions of C-W causing catastrophic cave-in*

I can get hold of loads of fibrelglass sheeting for signage of tunnels if needed. Easy to cut to size and water/damp proof. Can be leant against the wall, rather than nailed to it, if required.

OK, looked at it all and done a little editing.

The site is actually on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire border.

I'd be interested to hear Evo's take on it actually. As he's sound of mind he might be a little more pragmatic about it.

Both of PBI's games last year were within a month of ours, so they've not got a leg to stand on.

True. Evo actually has little to do with PBI planning, other than typing up the game briefs and ferrying Gadge to and from the sites. I found him to be the easiest to get on with and the most rational of the lot. Hopefully, he'll see sense and not get embroiled in any G&Y bitching.

Hehe, you had me pondering there Stephen - then it clicked!

I've known Gadge since I started airsoft - by sight only to start with. He always had a 'gang' of some sort. When we were starting the WW2 thing he was trying to hold together his Russian group - some sort of modern urban thing. One by one they all dropped out, even his 'best mate' who I haven't heard of for a couple of years. At that point Gadge was lost - no lifts!

Is it worth opening a discussion and Q&A thread on the Boryzyn forum? All the other threads are locked and it might be good to give people a nudge; even though they can open their own thread!

Yes, you could do. No idea what we do if Gadge starts moaning about it being hopeless to run a January event!

Without wishing to create more work for you Dave. Are you planning to update the website too?

Proposal for immediate posting on Jan game thread:

Thread title: Play for free!

Have Comrades in Arms gone barking mad?
Play for free?
Are CiA giving away places?

Well, not quite. In fact not at all, but bear with me.

Every year I get asked by parents, sisters, wife and children "What do you want for Christmas Dad?"
My answer is usually along the lines of "Oh, just a Smith's voucher will do." or "I don't know, make it a surprise." or "Just cash please."
Result? A Smith's voucher that just gets used because you have it. You buy a book you know damn well you can get for half the price on Amazon. Or the 'surprise' turns out to be some inappropriate tat that gets put away in the cupboard on Boxing Day. And where is the thought in giving cash?

The truth is that stuff you really want you buy yourself. I mean, say you want an MP40. You can't say to the wife "I'd really like an MP40 this year dear". Because you know on Christmas Day you will be opening a package that contains a £15 plastic springer from down the market. Well, its an MP40 isn't it.

Now, the run up to Christmas and indeed the few weeks after, are usually lean times cash-wise. Money needs to be spent on others, not indulging your pastime.

So, here is a solution that solves the naff present syndrome, solves the empty pockets syndrome, gives you a cracking day out in the gloomy month of January.
Get someone else to pay for Boryszyn Loop for you.

When your loved one asks "What would you like for Christmas?"
just reply "I'd love to go to the Comrades in Arms event in January. All you have to do is send £40 by PayPal to treasurer(at)ww2airsoft(dot)org(dot)uk making sure you say this is a gift for me by name. The nice people at CiA will send you a card that you can give me at Christmas that says you have paid for a place for me."

Please be sure that you don't do this before the booking opening date of 1st October though and make sure you make the Paypal payment as a 'Gift' so that we don't get walloped for fees.

I'll sort out some sort of card if we have any takers. This should put paid to moaning minnies who say people can't afford to come to a January event!
