Who's going as what?

I would prefer German.

I don't have cash to buy new kit and I don't like borrowing kit. Plus I know even less about the Russians than I do the Germans. And the German uniform is smarter.

I've edited mine and Pete's, assuming Pete's employer will cut his balls off is they see him in Kraut kit again.

I'm limited to the allied side for any events for the moment, so Russian is fine for me. (Once we get our new governor, I'm going to take the matter up with him/her and see if they're not willing to be more reasonable than our current knobhead).

Well, as it is I think its worked out well. I can't remember the last time I played on the same side as Guy - it was probably D-Day +2.
Two commanders of the Russians is fine as Germans will have duties to perform and need to be kept busy whereas Ruskies will be sneaky before getting heavy.

Well, I've just ordered an NKVD officers visor cap! ($50 posted from Russia) http://www.soviet-power.com/detail.php?pid=450 .

Don't think I'll need anything else, as I'll probably wear either my leather officers greatcoat, or my "Major Konig" fur parka. Already got soviet breeches and a spanking pair of officers riding boots. Maybe need a sam browne type belt but that's it I reckon.

Not really 100% authentic but all someone needs to add to it is jackboots, or hilegs with puttees for a pretty good Soviet loadout. Add a german breadbag, or canvas bag of some sort and they're away. I've already got a set, which I can bring to F&O, for pictures of "counts as" kit, if you guys think it's a good idea.

Just ordered a Makarov pistol holster as well. Fingers crossed my Luger will fit in it!

Be very surprised if a Luger fits a Mak holster, as the Makarov is about the same size as a Walther PPK.

Bugger, I meant Tokarev. Sorry, finished work early today and hit the bottle as soon as I got home!

Edit - The holster has arrived and I can confirm that a Luger does not fit a Tokarev holster! Has anyone got a 1911 they can bring to the next site visit, so I can see if that fits?
