this will get updated shortly and tweaked as its a copy of our last game :)

Our rules for uniform and weapons are quite simple,

Please no officer uniforms if you can help it unless you are a squad leader etc and everyone must wear headgear

Japanese - Any WW2 Japanese uniform, navy or infantry - hiki do a great range for some good prices and see below for a link for an easy look-alike for those on a budget - headgear must be worn cap or helmet

British- Chindit squad 1 is Chindit loadout, for those that want to go the full hog, squad 2 maybe a mix of Chindit and brit, and 3 is brits , but try to go for the more jungle look if possible Ralf is the man to talk to about it, as I never play British

Weapons - Any ww2 Rifle or SMG can be used and we also allow wooden stocked M14, ww2 pistols are allowed to be carried but ammo comes out of your limits

Please note this is a lower Ammo limit game, though we won't stop SMGS we would prefer a nice healthy amount of rifles :) (rifles with low ammo mags or no mags ie kar98s mosins etc will be allowed to reload in the field when not under fire)

No support weapons

we are happy for people to try their best to look the part and that's great but what we don't want is folks thinking they can just change their hat and use their Russian loadout etc , any problems just ask we may have some loan kit if needed :)

NO HPA GUNS AT ALL

NO real swords, knives or bayonets in game, though rubber /LARP knives are ok and for Officers and NCO's approved swords may be used

Japanese basic guide http://www.ww2airsoft.org.uk/japanese-basic-impression/

new guide I found but may be listed already lol http://www.reenactor.net/ija/1a-une_early-war.html

link to uniform and weapon guide etc http://aredsunrising.weebly.com/requirements.html

cheap Japanese cap search http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... p&_sacat=0

Japanese cheap belt set - thought there are others on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WWII-ARISAKA- ... SwEK9UD22D

Hiki Shop - has great selection of Japanese gear and some marine but never seen the marine items http://www.hikishop.com/wwii-japan-army-c-3_13.html

I had a few question yesterday about chindit kit. So thought I'd do a little kit guide.

If you want to go all out then WPG sell british jungle greens. Try to go for British over Australian JG. Slouch hats preferred, which you can find on ebay or soldier of fortune military. No helmets. Wear standard British 37 pattern webbing and puttees with ammo boots. Don't bring an entrenching tool as they weren't carried in the jungle but bring a machete or kukri if you have one. Also SMLE bayonets are good to carry though they tended to be hung from the cross straps above the ammo pouch so they don't get caught on foliage in the dense jungle.

A good stand in for British JG are British lightweights which are cheap in ebay or aussie nam JG if that's all you've got. Slouch hats are pricey so a cap comforter could be worn instead as all chindits were issued them for the colder rainy months and the night time. If the weather is cold enough you could wear a khaki jumper.

Normal british weapons to be used; Thompsons and SMLE's preferred but Sten's, No4 Enfields and Jungle Carbines were issued by the time of the second expedition. M1 Carbines were also acquired by a few soldiers.

Regards,

Ralph

Any suggestions for a Slouch Hat that is a reasonable price?
Or is it a case of trawling eBay & Fairs/CarBoots?

Auscam666 on eBay sell some good slouch hats. Other than that it's probably best o keep going through eBay and seeing what you can find. The slouch hats from SoF are proper akubra hats so are bomb proof

Ralph

I’ll most likely have to wear Aussie JG or a mixture as WPG have nothing Brit in my size.

Let me know if it has the piping round the brim, I was going to order one but I don't feel like converting it to be a normal (non-aussie) slouch!

Hats arrived, it is quite ‘Aussie’ but in the absence of anything more suitable it’ll have to do I suppose:

Was surprisingly easy. I just covered the crown with steam until it was wet all the way through and reshaped with my fingers. It's currently drying but holding the shape and should be OK once fully dry.

Ralph
