Got this from Evo. All good with him.

Hi Steve, I'm on holiday now until sunday in London, so don't know how much access I'll have to wifi etc. I'm planning on heading down on the friday evening, so can go through the scenario with you then. Healthwise, on my feet all day is fine, running around backwards and forwards, not so much.

Uniform-wise, I've got two options, poncy Major (officer's tunic, cap, breeches and jackboots), or old sweat, (No rank insignia, mainly camo, stahlhelm etc) Happy to use either. I find the officer's kit id's me to GMA players easier as an org/officer, but you've not got the same player base, so it's probably not so much of an issue. You call on that one, just let me know.

Anything specific you want to go through beforehand, I can give you a ring if you want when I'm back, just let me know.

I think we'll be fine to go through things with him on the Friday.

Thoughts on uniforms?

With the number of Germans, I'd say he should go with the "old sweat" one. There won't be any problem with people knowing who he is.

Just checked my work diary and I'm on an early shift on the friday, so, can be on site for mid afternoon if I go to the site straight from work.

We won't get the gate open until 6.30pm.

Oh well, I may still turn up earlier though, because of the M6/A14 traffic. Gives me a chance to bimble about for a bit.

Yeah, no need for Evo to ponce up at all, nothing special required for his role.

I'll try to get across as early as I can. I might be able to combine it with a work visit to the area. I need to get out there to photograph some places anyway.

Just had a guy over, buying my RPK off me. Happened out he is a member of the "34th" and, we got talking. Turns out that people other circles, ie, the 34th, hanschen and his clique and some gunman players, have been going round telling people that CiA turn people away, or slag them off, for having incorrect kit and insignia and that we are elitist and hardcore. No wonder we can't get any Germans!

I set him straight as best as I could and said he should give Merville a go and, to tell his fellow Germans to as well, if only to put their preconceptions to one side and, to not listen to the bollocks that some cock heads spout.

Chris has emailed me. All good with the site and they're looking forward to it all.

They're planning on running a game on the Sunday, which means we'll need to have our shit down and packed in good time. We'll have to get the cars parked out of the safe zone the night before if they're still going to be there when they players arrive on Sunday.

I asked, in a jokey way, if that meant we'd get a reduced site fee....their response: "Nice try".

Great, it will be easy enough for chaps to move cars onto the main track in evening.

Eeep. There's a chance Evo might not make it. He's been to he doc's today with a blister that wouldn't heal and the doc say's it's ulcerated. He may not be able to stand on it if the antibiotics don't clear it by the weekend.

Doh. I'd suggest Martin as a substitute, more than capable.

Man this is going to be a hard game to pull off!

Looking at the weather forecast, I'm a bit loathe to bring the 160lb tent, as I have limited space to dry it out at home if it gets wet. If the weather continues to look increasingly wank, I'll bring along a large nylon tent instead.

Yep? That what I thought. Everything is working against this game. That'll be one of the only rainy days in months!

I've got two nylon tents and, I'll bring them both. One is big enough to sleep 4 people easily. I've also got some decent sized tarps and oodles of paracord for rigging them up.

On another note, re:borrowing Brit kit from you Dave. I've found my old aertex shirt and, I still have my mountain cap and a pair of puttees but, that's it. So, I need as much as you can spare please!

I have battledress trousers + airborne smock for you. Choice of cap comforter or tin hat or a para helmet.
You can use my Thompson + hicap, so no need for pouches.

Do you have a 37 patter belt?
Do you have a face veil?

For Stephen all my sold kit: tunic and trousers, gaiters, belt + Y-straps + MP40 pouches, helmet.

Shirt if you want it?

Para helmet is best for me please. I have a 37 pattern belt (and 1 ammo pouch) and a rather tatty but usable face veil. I'll carry water and munchies in a medic bag.
