THE PRIZE
‘The 8Man UK Airsoft Tournament Cup’
The winning team will be taking home the 2008 UK ‘8 Man CUP’ and loads of other goodies. There will be special prizes for 2nd and 3rd place teams and all participants will get fabric badges for taking part.
OTHER PRIZES TO BE ANNOUNCED!
The idea for 8Man and a UK Cup tournament is to bring like-minded airsofters to the field where they get to test there team work and skills against some of the best teams in the country and have a bloody good time being entertained
To make the missions as cheat free as Airsoft can be, the teams taking part will not be fighting against other competitive teams during the tournament matches. Instead they will be pitting their skills against hand picked marshal teams (removing the need to cheat) as well as 4 refs refereeing the missions on the outside.
There will also be non-tournament arenas set up for teams to have friendly matches against each other and the big game on Monday for all the teams to take part, you pay money to shoot and that’s what you’ll be doing.
What with entertainment,a traders village, The Forum Marquee for open discussions and a fully licence Bar added on to a weekends shooting this should lead up to one hell of a weekend. Go to www.gunmanairsoft.co.uk and click on 8Man for more details.
We’re looking for 8 sites in the country to run up to 8 teams and send the winners up to Tuddenham for the final. With the support we had in 2008 from the Airsoft community The ‘8Man UK cup tournament’ was a fantastic success and is an event for all to look forward to every year.
BOOKINGS WILL BE OPEN IN JANUARY 2009 !!!
Go to www.gunmanairsoft.co.uk for more details.
Site & Game Rules
Marshalled Teams.
In 8-man, to remove the element of cheating you will be shooting against 4 teams made up from trained marshals. These marshals have been booked from all over the country, from many different sites. As the marshals are confirmed we will upload their profiles and the marshal team they will be in.
Every team will play 2 woodlands and 2 urban missions over Saturday and Sunday.
Each mission will be 30 minutes and have 3 objectives to complete.
If all three objectives are completed in:
Under 20 Mins – Excellent = 3 points
Under 30 Mins – Good = 1point
Missions not completed will = 0 points
Each attacker will have 8 lives and must numbered (armband or badge). When shot they must make their way to their Red vested team Ref, where the players arm band number will be market down. On the 8th hit the player leaves the field and is considered out of the mission. Each attacker will wear a red armband and be numbered.
Defenders have 2 lives per section and re-spawn from a Blue vested team marshal. When both lives are taken; the player leaves the field and waits at the next objective. As soon as the current objective is reached the defenders are released back into the game with 2 lives. At objective 3, when both lives are taken they are considered out of the mission. Each defender will wear a Blue armband and be numbered, again for the marshal to easily tally the number of lives of each player.
Examples of the missions you can expect.
These are the actual 8MAN Mission brief for 2008.
Each team will play 4 competition matches over two day and be scored on there time and performance!
Woodland
Mission 1 Assault the Fire base + Leave no man behind.
The enemy has set up a fixed position at the fire base; the attacking squad must find the satchel charges, locate the targets and destroy them. They must leave no man behind and get back to their LZ for extraction.
The squad will start at a fixed LZ position and must first assault and clear the wooded cops, here they will get there satchel charges and detonators. Then push on to the fire base and destroy all three of the targets before pulling back to their LZ.
Mission 2 Hold the line
The squad have been given the charge of defending there fixed position and holding the line from an insurgence force until re-enforcements arrive. Their field radio has no power and needs a battery cell and connecters. There is an old broken down vehicle in the woods that may have a working battery and jump leads that could be used to power the radio. The squad must defend their base and send a small team out to retrieve the battery and leads, power up the radio and call for a 2 minute Quick Reaction Force to bolster there numbers. As soon as the battery is connected and the call is put through, the squad must hold the line until the QRF arrives.
Urban
Mission 3 Building Clearance
The enemy insurgence have taken the village, can the squad take it back?
Each building must be cleared one by one in the correct order starting from 1 ? 12. 4 live team mates must be in the building to call it clear. Once done the enemy are not allowed back into or beyond the cleared building row. Can the squad clear out the village in time?
Mission 4 Crack the safe + Leave no man behind.
There is a safe box in building 12 that contains a disk with vital information on it, can the squad find the key cards, crack the lock and retrieve the disk before the enemy re-enforcements arrive?
Starting at the hill the team must battle their way to building 12 and secure the box, then make their way into the village and search for the three crates and the codex to crack the safe. All the keys must be put in the slots in the right order (use the codex) or the box will explode and the mission will fail. Once the disk is retrieved the squad must retreat back to the safety of the hill and leave no man behind!
Leave no man behind.
When this stage of the mission is reached and an extraction is called, if you are shot you fall to the ground and can only get back up if a buddy can get to you and call you live again. This section doesn't count toward your total mission lives, but every member needs to be on their feet and safe by the end of the mission. Team work is vital with ‘leave no man behind’.
