Heya guys a certain site and I are discussing running a 1980s cold war game later this year.
The scenario will be russian non nuclear strike and breakthrough on the German planes.
The British army of the Rhine and Bundewehr has held them in Germany for a week and the first deployment of US re-inforcmenets is trickling through the GIUK gap.
Can NATO stem the red tide?
Sides would be thus.
NATO
British - dpm kit slr or sa80 *some* m16s on approval
West German - Moleskin grey g3, uzi, mp5
US regular - Woodland m16, car15 types m60, m249, pasgt allowed
US national guard - olive green, m16 or m14, m60, m249
Resistance - 80s clothes any period or vintage weapon
Warsaw Pact
Russian - OD BDUs, or KLMK suit Ak47 or 74
East German - Strictarn or wwii feldgrau
thats a very rough idea at the mo
sides would be capped at about 50 per side with 10 per cent being allocated to 'special forces' roles on an invite only.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Can you reveal the site location yet?
You've got nothing to ein, zwei, drei, vier
No, its purely in draft form
I'd love an urban site so we can have a battling in the streets.
At the mo its a project and i just need interest to see how viable it is.

My other airsoft team (that I barely spend any time with since discovering WW2!) wear US Woodland, so if it was not too far north, some might be interested. Peterborough urban?

Cool we picked 1987 as PASGT and woodland was i service, sa80 had just come in for the brits and minimi for the US.
Its a perfect year for most peopel to be able to fit in and play.
Guys with nam kit can stil play as us national guard with older kit and all the wwii axis guys can do east germans!

I could be up for digging out my DDR infantry or FJ loadout for this one!
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

i was thinking in the same way that the guys bring Sven Hassel into ww2 airsoft, i'm going to try and bring the characters from 'Auf wiedersehn, pet' into cold war airsoft...

Hi
I would be interested.
Though a personal plea for it to be later in the year so I can afford and get a SLR.
I'm thinking late this year.

Ello matey, just to let you know GMA are running a Cold War Game in August 16-17. We run one every year so try not to clash:) I'd love to go to a cold war game myself.
Heer Schmidt
Yeah but the point was Josh that your cold war game isnt really that cold war being flecky vs dpm, looking to do something a bit tighter themed but dont worry it wont be at the same time.
I want to do something that *looks* like 1987 if you get me not just the scenario.

I Might be interested if its close to me and i have my British Kit by then.
Scanning the tinterweb, it seem that DDR strichtarn clothing and kit has become rather scarce
There used to be tons of it about and it was all as cheap as chips! flecktarn.co.uk used to do a good selection of NVA gear, but now all they seem to have are web belts !
I have even noticed that a german based surplus site are actually selling REPRO DDR Fallshy vests I never would have thought that they would be in that much demand for someone to make repro's of em.
