Hi guys, looking for some help with regards to collar insignia, what was worn by airborne officers on the shirts they wore under their jump uniforms.

This is what i think it should be, right side of the collar the rank marking, left side of the collar the crossed rifles of the infantry, however any definite markings lay out you can provide would be ideal.

Reason i ask is that i plan on using my us gear at re-enactment events/ 1940's weekends etc, while airsofting i will either remove or cover them.

Also as much as i think i know what the answer will be, were rank bars worn on the jump uniforms in combat, or was it personal choice?

any help/references that you can provide would be most welcome. Thanks Phil

Paratrooper officers had crossed muskets, with the number of the regiment on them too. 506PIR for band of brothers, 505PIR for 82nd airborne amongst many others.
