Hey chaps, anyone know where I can get a reasonable repro/look-a-like ones of these of F&O?
Surplus and outdoors do a French lookalikey 1, theyre very warm and itchy, but look good and are cheap (about £20)
French 1 is the same pattern as the US 1, it just needs the green buttons replacing with the brass 1s? Personally I'm keeping mine green, less to stand out

Yeah tell me about it, I raided Platoon in Bury's supply of 35th Infantry patches! hehe
Don't think it was the norm to put the patches on the actual coat, as they'd have been taking them on and off, but Ive put 1 on mine.
Might just go with the Sarn't stripes for the coat then - then I can use it for the 35th, too!
I think even less of having the rank slides on them, they were just overcoats, not battledress.
