Khaki on Blue will do you 'the whole war', and patch depends on division. 29th or 1st are the favorites and very in the DDay landings.

But whatever you do, don't glue your insignia on.
Not every event will allow you to wear it. For instance the recent Patton Stalled event had no insignia at all for the US troops!

I agree with Yith, here is a small selection of the unit patches and related patches which I have used over the years (some of them even once)
