US Rangers issued Wire cutters to every man in the platoon, IIRC. I'll find a source.

Little inpractical for airsoft purposes though! hehe!
Cant imagine too many site owners liking you cutting their boundary fences open!

Could say the same about digging holes with E-tools or having a bayonet
E-tools are handy if you want to dig a fox hole (which I have done at an event (with the help of Headshot and Kerstin)) and if you need to go poo in the woods! hehe
Bayonets are good for knife kills (whilst in the scabbard) and for scaring noobies at open days hehe!
On the 82nd kit guide, shouldn't there be brown felt pads mentioned for under the suspenders?
I know they were used at Normandy until Market Garden where a new, more comfortable issue were used?

dont think they stayed on long dude, it was only to stop the harness on the parachute making the suspenders and garb digging into your shoulders.
Ive seen a few photos of the 82nd not wearing any sort of load bearing stuff, just wearing their M1 cartridge belt and a few bandoliers for combat.
Picture was taken in Saint Mere Eglise on d-day
Cool, fair enough. Just a suggestion.

Webby, I'm putting together a 2nd ranger kit....... your the man to ask....Garrison cap for the 2nd Ranger......any ideas what the badge was.........?
Not sure dude, you'll want the overseas enlisted man's garrison gap, not sure whether to put anything on it though.
I've only ever seen an Airborne Garrison cap badged up, but then again Ive not looked into any pics of infantry wearing them.
Most of the caps were plain some c/o's had just bars,i have never seen a badge on one

I had one for my 29th ID impression, with the divisional badge on the right front (as you look at it), before I lost the cap in the fire along with my head. The same badge as you wear on the dress jacket lapels. Saunders Militaria do them for all the US units, google that - cheap as chips and very quick delivery for great quality product.
Note the folding stock carbine held by the para on the extreme left. Great photo!

Yeah, quite probably an Officer, or a runner,... makes sense to give them something fast in the absence of a Willies! ;o)

God bless you Mike, I really wish I could have been there to see that!
