should I aim for khaki, like in the "101st paratrooper" guide or some greenish stuff?

Go for khaki/tan-that will do you for all periods.

Green is mostly late war/Korea :good:

yeah the green stuff you see is usually associated with the M45 cargo system, which was introduced near the end of the war.

Belt, suspenders, musette pack, mag bag, thats your starter for 10 :)

This uniform better be warm, because it looks like I'll have to cut down on heating this winter :good:

No other way to save the money :P

I think thats a korean/vietnam helmet shell, by the looks of the bails. However, good enough for a WW2 look M1 helmet, providing that you sew the helmet chin strap straight onto the bails, and not use the metal clips :) :good:

You are right, USA provided us old army stuff in our Homeland war, like VN/Korea helmets and Thompsons, so it must be it.

Thanks for advice :good:

Swivel bails were around on WW2 helmets too. Often welded on to replace the broken off fixed bales.

M43 Trousers arrived.

M43 Jacket, 2 Private insignias, one screaming eagle patch and M1936 Belt ordered from epic militaria. :happyswing:

Now looking for suspenders and a magazine holder. Don't know whether to take 6X30 pouches or a mag bag?

Mag bag is handier, as you can get a couple of speedloaders in there as well. Also, it's dead easy to drop empty mags into a bag and really fiddly to get them back into the mag pouch.

I have checked 20 or so sites and didn't found anything, except on SoF but It won't accept my card. Any recommendations?

I got one of these:

They even made the strap longer for my more "prosperous" form.

Thank you, nice find (wonder why it didn't gave any results to my search :? )

As I am about to buy waterbottle with cover and cup, I'd like to know can I expose the cup to fire? Like heating foods from can in it?

I've boiled water in my mug, so, you should be ok. I wouldn't leave it over a fire for too long though. Also, mind your lips on the edge!

Not sure. The maker has some other stuff in their shop:

I can't comment on accuracy or quality, though. Only that my mag bag has put up with being fully loaded in 2 game days with no sign of problems, and that as manufacturers, they can change the items to your specs if requested.

received my jacket, belt, ranks and insignia :happyclap:

I have two private ranks which should go on shoulders, but I know I have read somewhere that screaming eagle was removed in later war. Is it true?
I have already purchased it (and really want to sew it in :D), would it be too incorrect if I do?

Ps. and yeah, where do they go, left or right sleeve?
