I'm curious as to whether the Garand Belt's pockets can actually be used, as they look rather small and I'm hoping that if I buy one it will actually be of use instead of just being a belt with pockets that serve no airsofting related purpose.

On another note, it's great to see the ICS M1 Garand projected to come out sometime within the next 6 months, hopefully it'll mean a bigger emphasis on rifles in the future, along with Warrens new No.4s that will be ready in a few weeks.

If not, you can pack three fun size Mars bars in each pocket. :good:

Now that'll be interesting, having a Yank just pottering about the empty battlefield munching Mars Bars. :D

You might want to rephrase that....

Which bit?

Standard M14 mags do not fit.

The little shotgun magazines that we use in our custom M14 => M1 Garands do fit, 2 to a pouch.

The G&G M1 Garand mags, I understand, do not fit.

The ICS M1 Garand mags... well we don't know yet. I did ask them to make sure that they fit but whether they : paid attention to me; translated my English correctly; could be bothered to do it; thought it was a good idea... etc... I have no idea. I'm still hopeful though!

Its just getting the damm baseplate on the bottom of the mag in the belt by the looks of things which will cause the trouble.

Thank you, I'll bear that in mind, hopefully we'll all find out whether it fits or not when the ICS Garand is released.

ICS Garand mags don`t fit the Garand belt, they do squeeze into bandoliers though.
I use a BAR belt or Thompson mag bag at present, not authentic but it works.

I've got the SOF Garand belt; my ICS mags fit with the base plate still attached.

It was a tight squeeze at first, but the material does have some give to it. If you get the mags in and out of there a few times, then leave them in for a long period, it will stretch. I didn't think it'd go at first.

Taking the base plate off, though, will mate it even easier.

I'm adding the caveat that it requires 'gentle persuasion' to make it fit. :)

The ICS Garand? Yeah, just a bit!

Two of us tried to use ours at RoTT; both came in at 420fps-ish. I was bricking it as I didn't have a back up gun. Luckily was loaned an M3 Grease Gun and a spare mag or I'd have been bayonet charging you all with twigs.

Dadio has downgraded mine to about 320fps now; pick it up tomorrow! :D

all the ones we had were about 400-430 ish

i think the first ones at fire support had a uk spring fitted so were around the 300 mark , not sure about the later ones they had

most of ours now fire around the 320 and are very nice.

How ever there was a problem also with the initial ones which were downgraded for the UK market by shooting on full auto. Im not to sure how they got around that one as they were relying on the power of the spring to slow the gearbox down. Smalelr spring = gearbox cycles faster, not sure what they did but if anyone gets this problem make sure you go back to the store you brought it from.

Yeah, heard that as well.

Dadio said on mine that after it was stripped down and the new spring added, it was firing two shots. It never went full auto. Once it was reset it worked fine and hasn't done it since, if it does do it again it's a case of hitting the trigger quickly to reset it. Mine always had a tendency to not fire the first time the trigger is pulled on a new magazine. Generally though, it's been very reliable after the initial brown trouser experience of finding the £380 worth of gun you have is basically unusable without forking out for a downgrade, which mercifully I was very lucky to be able to get done relatively locally, by someone I trust.

I did learn that having a back up gun is a very good idea, hence the reason I'll be the owner of an MP40 in a few weeks. :)

Looks beautiful!

So none of yours have gone full auto or double shots then after downgrading?

Felt like they were all firing full auto at RoTT, on the receiving end of them!
