I was having a look at 1A KNACKMANDEL Militaria on ebay.de, and noticed he was selling repro Italian camo panzer overalls in various sizes for £35 plus postage.I was sure I'd seen some pics of Waffen SS men wearing them and I thought it might be a good loadout for a noob like me until I could afford more gear.

I had a look through some reference books and the web, and the only pics I could find of soldiers wearing Italian camo overalls were HJ grenadiers at Norrey-le-bessin in Normandy. I've posted the 2 pics I found, looking at them more closely I think the short stocky bloke behind the MG42 gunner is also in the second pic. So I guess that means that infantry soldiers wearing these overalls was pretty rare, and if the only people wearing them were the HJ that's obviously no good for a Hohenstaufen loadout.

If any of you experts can enlighten me further I'd be very grateful. Cheers-- attachment is not available ---- attachment is not available --

Razor, my personal opinion would be to save your dosh - better to put the money towards something good. A good but reasonably cheap kit would be the dot 44 tunic and Feldgrau trousers. In the winter, they wore Feldgrau wool tunic underneath the dot 44, but in the summer, just the dot 44 on its own. www.epicmilitaria.com do nice dot 44 tunics made by Sturm for £37.95 . :good:

Cheers Steiner for that bit of advice. Thinking about it, I'm sure your suggestion would be the more sensible option. I have got a Spearhead M40 Waffen tunic I bought back in October before the pound went down in flames. It's not bad quality for the £35 I paid for it, although I wouldn't buy anything off him now as the prices have shot up. So the feldgrau trousers are next on the agenda from a UK dealer.
