As you Brits would say, "bloody brilliant!"

Great to see a conversion that looks (to my untrained eye) almost 100% perfect!

Absolutely fantastic work. Love it.

You should be very proud of that, oh and make me one out of a Tanaka 98k while you're there!

I did wonder how 'easy' it'd be, given then 1903 is basically a mauser. I might give it a go some day.

ÏŸÏŸ

My armoury;
Tanaka Kar98(1942 woodwork and parts), M1 Garand AEG(1940's woodwork and metalwork), MG34, SVT40, Mosin Nagant M44, MP40, PPSH41, Luger and PPK.

Probably better, (seems a real shame to trash a Tanaka K98), and certainly cheaper to use a KJW M700 as a donor, I've been buying a 'few' M700s and secondhand they go for between £110 and £150 depending on condition, buying new from ehobbyasia will cost about £180 delivered, the money you save on getting a M700 rather than a Tanaka K98 would probably pay for all the springfield parts to complete the project.

A fair point. Amusingly I binned an m700 recently, it was a bag of sh/t though to be honest, bits missing, etc. Still got the mags, so that is a viable option. Only niggle with that is the airsoft M700 replicates the M700 short action, which was chambered for shorter cartridges like .243, etc. It looks a little short in comparison to the 1903. A minor inconvenience to save a good chunk of money though!
