Excellent photos Chaos - very interesting (can't wait for mine now!)

Do you have a magnet handy? Could you say if any of it is steel or just all aluminium? (I'm thinking of which blueing solution to go for  )

Oh i can hear the eager rubbing of wire wool in great anticipation

Hehe! I realise now that the body is made from cast plates not stampings so it's going to be an alloy of some sort.

Agreed, great pics Chaos, will be useful for the spring downgrading (I chose to do it myself and avoid any chopping incidents!!) when I get round to it. As for steel? Front handgaurd is the only bit my magnet stuck to.

The other issues raised,
body pins, fine on mine (and my mates which I picked up too)
cocking lever interfering with hop, yep, it would knock to hop off just about every time, but a wee bit of file work should sort that.
Oversized batery hole in stock, aye it does seem a bit daft, but thankfully there is plenty of strength, and no daylight leakage. ;)
As for the effectiveness of the hop, I dunno yet, haven't tested it.

Overall, I'm quite happy with mine, but I'll reserve final judgement till I've skirmished it.

Okay, first pic is fully forward....

Next pic is retracted.....

So I'm thinking a couple of mm off that metal part should enable it to clear the hop wheels no bother.

BTW guys, LWA have a batch in too, they kept it quiet (predicting delays) but they have some available NOW. ;)

Nice. Far better than these 500rnd highs, I can just hear the terrible rattling everytime I run. Plus the mag will make noise too. :p

Post from Paul at action hobbies on another forum :)

The MP44 guns are due in tomorrow, we did have a very small amount of 5 units a month ago, there were the first 5 of a pre-production run, but we had them as samples only and were not allowed to send them out or release them until we had been given the all clear (released to us before they should of)

But the great news in they landed in the uk 3 days ago and have been in customs since, they are due to be delivered tomorrow along with a few other new goodies

Regards
Paul

PS also good news i can say is we are due in (holding breath) the
M99 in spring and the M83A1 as an AEG (should be spring) no date yet, but because AGM messed up with the MP44 they have stated there will be some pre-production models sent out soon
But no details as yet im affraid

So those with them at the moment, have you been able to confirm the FPS speed?

Bloke on the airsoft forums got his today and it's doing 400fps. I'm not going to be the happiest bunny on the planet if I have to fork out more cash or modify the thing myself to be able to actually use it when the online store we've ordered from states 350fps :(

People are forgetting that china guns are mainly sold in the US, thats why the FPS is so high, if you cant be bothered getting the spring chopped why not stick to running around with an AK47 pretending its a mp/stg44 :?

Let me see now:

A ) The site we bought from are saying they're 350fps with 0.20 BBs. If they aren't, they're telling fibs and it's more money/work to get the things legal. I don't see why I should have to void my warranty by opening up a gearbox to cut a spring, and I also don't see why I should have an AEG with a cut spring anyway. It's the cheap amateur answer.

B ) Seems they're spouting that they're the ones who've financially backed this AEG. If that's the case, why are they coming in at between 400-450fps, which is unusuable in this country? If it's not the case, they're telling more fibs (like the one they told about them coming by boat!).

C ) Comments like your last one show you know nothing about me and what I've been doing for over twenty years now ;)

We've now been told they're chronoing at 420-460fps and that they aren't downgrading them. They will downgrade them for us for an extra £25 each, or send us an M95 spring (which they say needs two coils cutting off it), to install ourselves and void our warranties, for £10 each. This when there website states "350FPS velocity using 0.20g BB's". Sod 'em. I'll have my money back and order fro Land Warrior instead

LOL. I don't think I've ever seen anyone so pissed off with a gun he hasn't got yet!

I'm guessing most of us think like me and are taking a 'wait and see what it's like in my hands' attitude and accept that
1) It's a cheap gun for what it is and this means compromises
2) They have been waiting for a usable MP44 for years and can't believe one is on it's way
3) Accept it's a Chinese gun so will need stripping anyway, so a quick spring change ain't a problem
4) Don't take any notice of what fps is stated but test and then adapt to what they want/need
5) Will abuse exterior finish anyway so instantly voiding any warranty

And that reminds me, the Chinese battery will be rubbish so I must order a new one as I don't have any stick ones in my pile of batts!

I hear what you're saying, Dave, but it's the principal. We've been told they're 350fps, now we're told that they can sell us further services/goods to make them 350ish/maybe/perhaps, depending on our own skills. I personally don't have a chronograph, so how the hell do I know if I've taken off enough spring or too much? I have no problem tweaking hop up units, barrels, batteries etc., but gearboxes should come in at an acceptable fps to start with. I don't fancy shelling out more cash that I can't afford just to cock something up and have to spend even more to fix my mistakes! Warranty doesn't cover the externals, and you won't void a warranty by wire wooling the paint down. Titting around with the gearbox, even on their recommendation, will void it, then I've got to pay out if it goes to rat shit. As you said yourself a couple of pages back, they're in breach of the trades descriptions act by advertising at 350fps and actually providing at up to 460fps. And it's not the MP44 I'm pissed off with, it's their attitude :D

Nah, not me!

Aye, if you want out-of-the-box <350fps then you need to make sure that's what the retailer gives you (as you have already arranged :good: ). A lot of the Chinese guns have been a bit pokey to kick off with but AW/AH as major importers have a fair bit of clout and specify their requirements - I have no doubt once this initial excitement is over then the fps issue will be sorted in the factory prior to import.

As for mis-quoting the fps, well, perhaps they are quoting the Chinese spec rather than in-the-hands UK chrono. I'm sure the published spec will be revised in light of experience. And I'm 100% sure AW/AH are not intending to deceive - they just aren't that sort of retailer!
