not seen this mentioned but gunner have a real wood kit on their site for the acm bar .

Good find though I don't think this will have much use. WWII BARs had Bakelite stocks.

wasnt the bakelite stock only adopted in 1942 due to shortage of walnut

That sounds right. Many Garands from '42 had birch stocks.

Not all bars were refitted to the 1918a2 standard due to the requirement of them in the field. Although not found a source indicating the amounts.
