Did you try google?
Result from google search for AGM MP40 barrel length:
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/aeg/other-ae ... p007a.html
Change 0 to 4 in the search and:
yes i did try google and found the same info you did , but as these are chinese clones the info they tell you does not always match up to what u get and as they not standard sizes wanted to get as close as i could , hence why i asked as some folks must have replaced theres as some point
You asked about AGM guns, and those links are for AGM guns...
yes i know but what they put on the sites is not always right , why i wanted to be sure before i spend cash on new barrels
cheers Steve , yes think it is a AK hop up they mostly changed to , and yes Firesupport do have a good rep for fixing and modding guns far better than me
I've looked into this previously and found out that there isn't a replacement barrel for the MP40 on the market. If you want a tighbore, the closest fit I found was one for the MP5 PDW and this would need trimming. Also the hop is a fiddle and this put me off.
TBH, the stock MP40 I have has been a very good gun and more than adequate as a shorter range SMG (what it was built for). As for the MP44, the only things worth changing are the spring and the battery. If it ain't broke etc.
Theres 2 ways you can have a tight bore mate.
1 - To do the taffy mod which works quit well.
2 - have a fire support mod'd tm ak hop unit which is also works great.
either of the ways involves some work.
After the mod a mp5 inner barrel fits in very nicely with no trimming.
On the mp44 inner barrel length its the same as a ak47 length. i fitted a system 6.04 into mine.
hope that helps
Fitting a tightbore in a MP40 is fairly straight forward, use a 229mm systema 6.04 inner barrel & a new hop rubber, it takes a bit of messing but can be done in 45 mins, you will need some basic DIY skills, a file, a junior hacksaw, some insulation tape & some superglue, the mod was originally done by Taffy from the ASCUK forum, I did the mod on a few myself & have done a step by step photographic guide on how to do it, PM me for the instructions, its a 6.5 meg word document that's zipped & some people I sent it to did not have Microsoft word to open the doc or WinZip to unpack it so if you have Word & WinZip I can mail you the mod instructions..

I've converted Steve's file to a significantly smaller PDF (405K) and sent it back to him for checking.
Cheers for that

thanks for the file
