It's fairly normal. A lot of forums are like that.

It's the only one I know of that completely blocks unregistered viewers from just looking.
Plus, "out of date or broken link" doesn't actually tell you the real reason why you can't view it...

Yes, plenty of forums do that - I don't know why forum of such a public nature like to be 'private'. This CiA forum can be seen by all (apart from Off Topic) regardless of registration, indeed we have twice as many 'guests' visiting as 'registered'.
Why register if you don't want to post? Just a waste of database space and its blummin annoying! Unless they use it as an indication of 'popularity' - "look at how many members we have".
Personally, I'd rather know what active user figure is!

On a point of academic geekiness and less off-topic to this thread - the 'Most users ever online was 963 on Fri 13. Mar 2009' was the day we announced to the world the VIVA Sten!

Its fine, Chris is going to send me a stock off one of the other ones.

Just so long as he doesn't swipe it off mine

Or mine for that matter...

Where has everyone bought theirs from? Who's the best supplier for either/both (a) price (b) service?

Chris Hobbs / Dog Green without a doubt.

£163 posted and with me in about two days of payment via royal mail courier type service

Admittedly i had that small stock issue but thats not Chris fault and appears to be a one of due to careless packing in china (given the way the guns built you cant tell you've got the wrong stock until you've unscrewed the bolt and taken it off.

I dont think anyone else even comes close to that price.

I had already asked Mr Dog green previously about postage costs. Yes, seems to be unrivalled then! I shall check my funds...

Chris is #1 for me. Two guns at bargain prices already.

I have the same problem with the stock as IMP.
As the metal is flush there is no were for the bat cable to fit. The vertacal bar on the site section prevents any hope of getting the cables through

I had to strap my bat' to the stock for Alsos. Which I couldhave done with my old stock :slap:

It will fit, I stuffed the gun half of the small connector into the receiver and the battery half into the stock, then slid the stock half on, connected them and then tightened it all up.

Will take a picture to demonstrate if people need it.

Here's where you want the connector in the receiver -
-- attachment is not available --

Here's the battery inside the stock, note it slides right to the bottom leaving room at the top for both connectors -
-- attachment is not available --

Connect them up and offer up the stock to the underside of the receiver, the wires and connectors slide into the stock -
-- attachment is not available --

Like this -
-- attachment is not available --

Now just attach the stock in the normal way by sliding it up into the groove in the receiver and tighten up the bolt.

NOTE - the battery shown is the chinese one that comes with it. Stick batteries from Component Shop, for example, DON'T fit, because the connector running from the bottom of the cells to the top is a wire rather than a flat one. The extra thickness of the wire running alongside the cells makes it next to impossible to get it in. If anyone knows where you can get stick batteries with the slimline flat connector bit down the side please let me know.

Hope this helps.

Ah Ha !
Problem found
Our bar section on the sight is verticle NOT horazontal. This stops us getting the wires in.
They've made to types, and we got the wonky ones :slap:

Back to square one.

Thanks for the pics tho :good:

Heh, I was wondering what you were all talking about - I see now! With the internal lipo battery a vertical bar in the end cap is fine, but with a stock battery you need a different cap with horizontal bar. Ooops. Chinese QA strikes again.

I'd be tempted to just drill a hole through the bar and thread the leads through it.
