That'll probably be the "budget" version with plastic gears/gearbox.

Thats what I thought at first, but it`s £70, they`re only £70 over here. Normally the budget plastic box stuff is about £40 in HK ? 8)

edit....just looked at the gunner part number SW05, could it be the Snow Wolf Thompson ? EHobbyAsia have them for about £89 http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/snow-wolf-m1a1-wwii-classic-aeg.html

i think it should be pointed out that once you have bought that gun from hong kong, had it posted over here, paid the import tax then vat on the whole lot including shipping costs then it going to nearly double in price. i have just aquired a king arms thompson from FS, its metal top half and plastic lower half with full metal gearbox and gears for less then £150, comes with warranty ect.. AH sell the snow wolf tommy but at their price you might be worth buying from hong kong and waiting the 2 months for delivery! i would steer clear from any full plastic tommys around the £70 over here as they will be around 150fps and last 1 game. ZIB sell a tommy but i cant confirm the build quality. lots of distributers are selling the same gun now more and more under different names to make it harder to price match, action sport games in denmark are good at this. lots of guns turn up under the asg brand and they are simply cyma or agm. agm is a good example as their mp40 is around £140 out here but asg sell the same gun by agm under the asg brand for £165. LW sell an ak47 under then name arsenal, agin by asg and tell you over the phone its made by jing gong but all the internals actually have cyma part numbers on them, i should know as i bought 4 of them. beware of rebranded guns!

I never realised the king arms m1a1 was that low a price £155 on fs, add delivery about 160 in total, not bad for a KA gun though. The SW m1a1 would work out at about £125 to the uk if it got stopped by customs, not particularly worried about warranty as I prefer to repair them myself. AH seem to be rocketing their prices recently, they used to be the king of cheap guns.

yes ive noticed that lately too. FS used to be quite expensive but have come down abit reciently. i was working at FS last week and john mentioned that they actually supply alot of other uk retailers. frank said he often trys to make sure they are competative with other retailers but have so many makes and models for sale thats its nearly impossible to check every one! the king arms basic thompson is actually made by somebody else for king arms. in the box there is paperwork from cybergun who are a french distributer, who actually makes this tommy is a mystery at the moment. king arms do however make a full metal and real wood tommy at more than twice the price.

as far as I am aware cybergun own all the trades, but i dont think they actually produce it. But a KA full metal full wood (with a new piston) seems the way forward if you want a tommy!

its an interesting agle on the gun. i would be inclined to give this budget king arms tommy a try. its metal upper and plastic lower, has a healthy rate of fire where as my old cyma one was abit slow, and at only £150 with a years warranty who cares if it strips a piston! i havent ever seen any tommy strip a piston but i have seen it on many other weapons where people runs them on high speed motors, 9.6v batteries and upgrade the hell out of the internals and springs to the point the gearbox is so tight it explodes.
just to add, this king arms budget tommy is full metal gearbox and full metal bushings.

I have never had any of my guns split a piston and have always found that TM motors and classic army motors will work forever with a 8.4v battery. My Thompson has done probably near 150K rounds and I have replaced most of the parts but havent touched the motor. (although i got a new Pinion head for it.) No need for massive ROF TBHm, especially in a game with ammo limits! I am ordering some MOSFETS atm to reduce the ROF of my AEG's not increase them.

im on the same wave lenght here, a masive rate of fire certainly is bad new when you are on lowcaps with amo limits.
