My Sten is mis-firing - unless I wiggle the trigger it doesn't fire - which leads me to believe I need to look at the contacts. Can anyone point me at a source for replacements if they're FUBAR?
Its very likely that its the trigger itself that needs attention , its a very simple setup where the trigger itself bridges the contacts and is prone to carbonizing or even pitting as its only pot metal and not the greatest conductor ,I made up a copper strip to attach to the trigger on one I worked on ,this made a far better contact and solved the problem .

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
I had a similar problem with my M14, one of the contact s was bent too far away to pass current and the other had a lot of pitting. I filed them smooth and bent back into place. A cheap MOSFET and its not happened since.
Thanks guys - I'll crack it open and give the trigger fix a try.
