After 3 years of intermittent fettling and the shedding of much blood, sweat and tears I have today finished my No 4. Made from the abomination that was a Well MB03 VSR10 mutant - ("clone" would not be appropriate), and mostly hand filed / carved from mild steel and epoxy metal filler.
Oooo you tease, show us a the whole thing!
Looks awesome tho mate. Nice one!
She shoot as good as she looks?
Well, as it seems to be the done thing to include either a cat or a foot....

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all
if a job's not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well
Thanks chaps.
Unfortunately it is shooting at 415 fps wih the hop off! Last time I chronoed it (same chrono), prior to doing the last of the cosmetic stuff, it was at 340ish fps. Time for a tweak.
Whats wrong with it shooting 415?

Anyway, that's sorted now, but I am getting the occasional BB going the wrong way in the hop unit, getting drawn in to the receiver and then stopping the piston from properly going forward.
Awesome! Congratulations on the build. Love the accurate rear action housing.

That, my man, is a thing of beauty. It might have taken 3 years to build, but it was certainly worth it. Superb work.
That looks very nice. Good job. And nice banjo I've just been fixing one up this weekend.
Thank you. Now the gun is finished I will be getting back to the banjo practice. (Chommers, can we have a smiley picking a banjo?)
I think the problem with the BBs going back in to the receiver was to do with the mag feed, particularly a dodgy old mag I had. I stopped using it and it only happened once all day in the field on Saturday at "Eagles". Nothing broke and I even shot some people.
best looking one i,v seen chap
