The Thompson takes an 8.4v large type, but these can be slightly different sizes and some may struggle to fit in the stock. I took a 1400mah battery and it lasted all weekend in my MP40 as WW2 airsoft tends to be short bursts and more tactical than open days so you won`t use as much ammo/battery power.
If a 3300 mah will fit in your stock it`ll last all weekend and more, a useful link for batteries is component shop. Half way down the page you`ll find the large packs, if you click on the battery pic it will give you the dimensions:

As for BB`s anything in .20, some here £7.99 for 5500:

Hope this helps :)

Is it an ACM Thompson? If so, it will have the small Tamiya connector on it, so make sure you get the right one. If you have a local model shop, it might be worth trying there, so you can see what you're buying.

It is probably worth converting the small connector on an ACM gun to the large type if you can or know a person with the knowledge.

This one -

from Component Shop -

http://www.component-shop.co.uk/html/airsoft_etc_.html

first one down under large packs.

It fits nicely in the Thompson stock and you can specify it to come with a mini connector as standard so you won't have to worry about small to large connectors or anything.

It should easily last you all day and probably a whole weekend.

Unfortunately, Component Shop seem to have been out of stock on a lot of items for a number of weeks now.

Possibly your best bet is to get one with a large connector and then get a model shop to change the connector for a small one. The alternative is to buy a large-small lead, but there's not a lot an awful lot of room in the stock.

The lead you need is this type for the large battery,

it should just plug onto the end of the gearbox assembely lead, you will need to remove the stock to fit it,

lead with fuse:

Depends on what mA capacity it is. There is some forumula which I forget, but as an example, I charge my 1900mA battery 23 hours.

Look at the output level of your battery charger. Say, for example it has a 200 mAh output, and you're charging a 2000 mAh battery. 2000/200 = 10 hours.

The standard battery that comes with the ACM Thompson may not last a weekend if your trigger happy, most people get a large battery, an 8.4v 3300mAh battery fully charged should last a weekend, to charge a 3300mAh battery on a 250mAh charger wil take about 15 hours, to charge the battery that came with the gun depends on its capacity, using a 250mAh charger the following times apply: 1700mAh battery charge for 8.2 hours, 1800mAh battery charge for 8.6 hours, 1900 mAh battery charge for 9.1 hours, also firing the gun on semi auto helps drain the batterys quicker, I mainly use full auto, on a 8.4v 3300 mAh battery I will normaly get 4000 rounds or so out of the battery, don't overcharge the batterys either,
